| | | Up on dem roofs < on 9/5/2010 5:07 AM >
| | | So there I am its a friday I am scouting this place finding out whats what to make sure I don't kill myself or get arrested. All is well. I want to go up there but I can't its too bright and I'm a pussy. So now its today, well yesterday. I want to get there before sunset because I want some sunset shots. I realize its stupid bright out and damnit there is a baseball game, when will people learn baseball sucks asshole. So I say to myself fuck it, no guts no glory, I go through my POE and run out from behind the bushes and fence and DAMNIT there is a police VAN sitting in the lot. All I could think was some cockface saw me walking up and down that sidewalk for 2 hours yesterday. So I just turn around and head back into the wooded area and I wait 15 minutes until they finally leave, and you know what, it was a traffic cop van....UGH! So I say nevermind too many people here coming back around 11. Thus I do and what do I find? a bunch of people drinking around my POE. I think they all worked at the bakery, so I am like WTF go home, in my head. I realize I have to piss, so I go down to the river and take a leak, I know these guys saw me but they must have thought I was homeless, then I found a sweet shiny knife in the river and I go for it, now they know I am homeless, putting my hand in the water I just pissed in. Finally they leave so I do the walk and I see the ladder and at first I'm thinking ok, need to be careful there is a play going on in that auditorium or something, a lot of cars around. Then I say fuck it, no guts no glory and I run for the ladder only to see two guys come around the corner of the building and see me as they're walking to their cars. I walk around a corner and hide in the shadows for about 15 minutes when I come back again I see most people on this side of the lot are gone. Good for me I book it for the ladder. I keep saying don't break don't break don't break, then I get to the final ladder and I say please don't die, please don't die. Then I get up top and I feel like I am in some sort of gravelly rough heaven. 1

| | | Nice. I was freaked as hell the first time I went up on a roof with people around. Number 8 is my fave, I think.

| | | I was super freaked! In number 8 that light you see shines right on the ladder, plus there were lights on that weren't on during the day right around the ladder, turns out they were hallways (not apartments with people in them like I thought, man that would've been awkward). I thought people saw me, so while I was up there I was constantly checking for any unmarked cop cars or anything suspicious. Towards the end I took picture 8 and I'm sure people saw me but probably were in disbelief. I was also playing with my camera settings. I was using a canon powershot SD400. I'm somewhat disappointed in the graininess of most of my pictures, I'll get the hang of it though Thanks for the song Gutter Monkey, that'll be the first song I play when I bring a lady up to a roof. I know we'll start making out instantly. [last edit 9/5/2010 1:57 PM by shockface - edited 1 times]

| | | Sheesh, you can dance all day. :B Coolbeans that you made it up there, and thank you for the gigglefit of a story! I bet I could get that camera to behave... best bring that shit with you and I'll bitchslap it into submission. Then you will be pro-la! I do like shots 3, 4 and 8. Guessing that was a little self portrait action.
We didn't need a story. We didn't need a real world. We just had to keep walking. And we became the stories, we became the places. We were the lights, the deserts, the faraway worlds. We were you before you even existed. |

| | | LOL. i can see that place from my house. i go there all the time. if you wanted to get on a roof you could of just went down the street and there's an abandoned factory ha ha. i used chill on that roof. a lot better view the the highway and whatnot. but unfortunately the roof has not been burnt and probably not accessible. but at the date these pics were taken the other place would of been a lot less sketch.
