not necessarily. if i'm correct, you pay taxes on the amount you pay? someone please correct me if i'm wrong. there is this old factory in wisconsin which was bought for $200 and owned for years, while it remained in the abandoned state, the state it is still in. he only pays dollars for taxes since he purchased it at such a low price.
