| | | I've driven by this place several times the last few days and finally remembered to grab my camera. Looked like there hasn't been much activity, but there appeared to be stuff in the main building, like it was being used for storage or something. I'd edit this location in the database and add these pictures there, but I guess I don't have the proper permission to do so.

| | | Quaint up top, industrial down below. They're the architectural equivalent of the mullet.

| | | That's a trip. It looks like they were built to withstand floods but, that's ridiculous. Cool pics.

| | | Thanks for the complement. I'm no Ansel Adams or anything, but I know my way around a camera. I just wish I knew more local UE'ers.

| | | I mentioned these houses today to my mother and it turns out she knows the woman who owns/owned this little grouping of houses. In speaking with her I now remember the story and seeing them at some point long ago, as well. The woman was a common sight on the news; always getting rescued or fished out from her land every year when the area flooded. She finally decided "fuck it" and just built the houses up, not caring of the ridiculous appearance. Given the location, it was probably a wise move. Not sure of her current standing with the houses, though.

| | | Thanks for the info. It definitely doesn't look like she's living there right now, though it's obvious someone has. All kinds of stuff was inside, but not as if someone's residing there at the moment. More like someone was just storing stuff there.

| | | I've driven by those before, along with some other similar houses in the Snohomish area. My parents had some property in Snohomish when I was a little kid and that place flooded all the time. I can see why they'd build like that, I can't imagine rebuilding my house EVERY fucking year.

| | | Yeah, that would probably get old after the 10th time or so.
