yes i went in for a look there but it was full of water so i didnt go all the way.does it go off around the corner or is it just that one little section?
the old bricks are the most interesting part but the pics didnt turn out in there.

Ahh Swoo, nice nice.. Always a fun drain - old Swoo is very nice (it's always full of water from memory, but it's not very long & can get some nice shots in there)

Yeah the old sections quite short and is partially flooded to about waist deep in the middle. If you stick where all the cement that they put in there when the pylon went through the roof its much shallower. Theres an overflow at the end of it from memory and a blocked off tunnel. It was the original drain, the new cement pipes were added and they cut off the old section except where you crawl through the small pipe to get into it.

Was it that section you didn't go through or the poo pit at the bottom of swoo, both get a lot of water in them, the poo pit exits into the river. The entrance to old swoo is near there through a small pipe at the bottom of the last slide. Same sort of brick construction as the enrence.

i didnt notice anything at the bottom but didnt look very hard either, busy trying to freak people out who were walking around on the wharf above us.
i crawled into the old section about half way down.
heres one of the better pics i got while in there.
i think the concrete you can see in the pic was to stop the water ruining the concrete that actually blocks the whole shaft(to the left as you crawl in)

is there another section other than this?
does this lead further up stream?
next time....

Just a bit past there after you go under the tin sheet, there's an overflow on the left side, don't know if its explorable or not, I didn't go into it as its quite small. Straight ahead is a blocked off vertical section with rusted off step irons and to the right is a short blocked off tunnel that goes about 20m. Up the blocked off tunnel there used to be some cool blue crystals growing on the brick walls. originally I believe that section was connected to the brick section at the top, but was diverted a long time ago after the gas works above it closed.

That sections not very long but it is the best looking part of swoo
