| | | i'm wondering if anyone in my area would be down to do some local exploring? i've never gone before and i def want some guidance. anyone in spokane? there are a few places around CDA that would be goldmines.....if only i knew where to start with research and whatnot. there was an amusement park in the 70's (playland pier) that is now the CDA resort and city park. i read about underground showers and locker rooms. maybe still there waiting to be found? also there is farragut state park which is a now defunct naval training base from the 40's. i can't imagine that they removed all the underground infrastructure for an entire military base. oh and there's veterans memorial bridge. that one sounds like it may be pretty easy, i've heard of ppl skateboarding inside it....and the silver valley area has TONS of mines. anywho-if any locals would take pity on a urbex wannabe.....let me know

| | | To my knowledge, the only thing left of the naval base is a museum. That place was decommissioned in 1946 and the land was kind of parceled out but then ended up being eaten up by US Park Service. As far as I know, any of the buildings left standing from the old base have been renovated for park use or torn down years ago. There was not a submarine training base there like some people say but I think at one point during WWII the base was considered the biggest city in Idaho. As for the old amusement park, I have never heard of that one. If you find anything out about it I would love to hear about it. There are quite a few old mines up in that area and toward Billings. If you are into exploring old mines you will probably be able to find a few of those. Hope this helps!
