| | New to the site, looking forward to doing some local exploring < on 8/1/2010 10:08 PM >
| | | I am new to UE but I am a backpacker for many years who doesnt have days on end to go out in the woods, but i can spend a day looking around old buildings and such. I am in Raleigh, NC and i know of a lot of old houses that are abandoned out in the country and look forward to going and checking them out. I wont give away their exact location but they are in Cleveland, NC. Anyone else know of any old abandoned houses in the area that they wouldnt mind sharing? I really want to go and check out some old schools or hospitals if there are any within a couple of hours. Look forward to looking at pictures and reading experiences of UE.

| | | Welcome to UER. Houses aren't really my thing, but you ever want to do drains/steam tunnels/rooftops/construction sites/factories/towers etc. we're set with those. We also have some schools and other things around the area.

| | | Where would some warehouses or factories be in this area if you dont mind revealing their locations? I grew up in Garner back in the late 80's early 90's when it was still a farming community and there were old houses just scattered all over the woods that were pretty fun to look at when i was younger. But they are all gone and that is why I am out looking in Cleveland for houses to look at and there are several old farmhouses and buildings out there.

Welcome to UE Raleigh! Most people don't post location details on the forum for reasons of not getting arrested / not getting their favorite location trashed, but we meet up now and again, in which case we'd be happy for you to tag along. Also, finding stuff is pretty easy around here, even if we don't have anything too epic.

| | | I understand about not posting exact locations from fear of it getting overcrowded. Let me know next time there is a meeting in the area. I dont know anyone who is even slightly interested in UE, all my friends go hunting and such for fun, and my hiking friends dont see a point in old buildings. But I am a history grad from NC State and am just interested in looking at old structures of time past

Apple is definitely not a female. Just sayin'. Unless you misquoted and meant me? Anyway, we're both up for stuff if we're in town.

| | | Sorry, got the two of your names confused. Just let me know, I dont start work for a couple of weeks so I have some free time. Tuesday would be straight. Let me know what you have in mind. The ball is in your court, I dont know anything around here except for some old houses out near Cleveland/Clayton area that I saw driving back from the beach today.
