| | We found a homeless camp. < on 7/25/2010 1:22 AM >
| | | We started out by pulling up to the place, and we ran into a fellow UEer. We talked for a while, and told him of this forum and told him to check it out. Then my fiancé and I started our adventure. We started with surrounding property. Lats time I was there I saw some great torn up and twisted railroad ties. SO we searched and couldn't find them. We then moved towards the office building, looking at the foundations and railroad tracks and strange things left behind. My fiancé found what she refers to as a "Hobo Can" which an old tin can that is half way opened so it doubles as your bowl. So we then decided to head on into the building. I showed the first floor, which I previously explored. Nothing too exciting. She wanted to go into the bathrooms and see them, I think that is a horrible idea, small rooms with one way out and no light near downtown, I think i will pass on that. So we headed up stairs, which I hadn't explored before, and was surprised how different it was form the first floor. It wasn't gutted, and was in decent shape. There was nothing in the rooms except blinds on some windows. The paint was peeling on some walls and the floor and ceiling tiles were in bad shape. The weird pic was taken through one of the doors, the vent was torn off and as you can see some junk was in there. The second floor was insanely hot, so we decided to head out and explore the grounds some more. After a little while and getting ready to leave, I spotted what appeared to be a tunnel. So we found the old road and followed it to it. It lead us to a wall with some sweet tagging and a creepy staircase. We went through it and found some neat pipes and the abandoned employee parking lot. As we walked around we saw another building further away and decided to go to it. Then we spotted, patio furniture, a grill, and a tv sitting outside, and realized it was a homeless guys house. So I said we should before he comes back, then i heard some noise off to the left and saw the homeless man with a buggy and we got out of there. So heres a good chunk of our pics. Hope you enjoy. Chris-Kicker will be going with us tomorrow as well. So he post his stuff tomorrow. The Office Building

| | | Looks like quite the cool place. It's a shame that the whole place is cleared out. A lot of the time it's the stuff that's inside is the coolest. I love the old staircase picture.

| | | Chris-Kicker, my fiancé, and I did some more exploring today. We got some video and a ton of pics we will post them. We went to an abandoned military TNT factory. An abandoned train yard, and to another part of the stuff from this set. Not sure when we can post it, but soon.

| | | I scouted this place, and also the places directly on the west side and east side of it yesterday. Looks like there are some active parts to all 3 complexes? Maybe even security. Didn't see the hobo camp. And lol at having a iron fence on one side of the property, when the other side of the lot you can drive a car onto.

| | | I thought it was rather funny as well. The homeless camp is kinda hidden. I had been there dozens of times, then when i went with my fiancé we were wandering around and found a road that took us further back into it. If you wanna explore it, Chris-Kicker and I would be more than willing to go with you.

| | | Yeah I really want to hit some stuff around there sometime. I live about 2 hours away. Was just driving through and didn't have a schedule to keep so I scoped a few things out.

| | | For sure. Some of the really good stuff here is kinda off limits at the moment though. Cabana is all locked up tight, the department store has been sealed and renovations continue. Even Sloss furnace ran us out last time we were there. That being said, there is always TCI, and there is still a significant number of things I have yet to go to.

| | | Awesome! We have been working hard to find and document as many places as we can. We have gone to 10-15 places in the last 3 weeks. With many more to come. We are constantly finding new places. Chattanooga has a ton of places to go through. So if i were you i would dedicate at least of couple of days here.
