| | | Hello. I'm going to New York for several days and very interested in abandoned parts of the subway (in Toronto we have a small stretch of tunnel and a semi-abandoned station, which was so much fun exploring). I'm doing some research at the moment http://www.nycsubway.org/abandsta.html http://www.columbi...brennan/abandoned/ but the lists are extensive, and I was wandering, if people here would say how interesting and/or accessible some of them are.

| | | Good luck. Not trying to be a dick, I just know that they are EXTREMELY difficult and dangerous (both safety and law-wise) to access. If you do it, post pictures and let us bask in your awesomeness

| | | Dont bother asking them. They wont help you. If they dont know you, they wont help you. I know some of them personally and how they are. Not being a prick but im just saving you the trouble.

The books they sell on the site have a lot of info in them and are worth buying.

| | | It's obviously not subway, but if you're at a loss there's always the freedom Tunnel. It's easy to find and something you could do alone I guess.

Everybody goes there. You should've seen that place in 80's before Amtrak cleaned it up. I recommend this abandoned one that runs under St. Mary's Park in the Bronx: http://bronx.ny1.c...aks-up-bronx-swamp Insect repellent is highly recommended.
