| | | Posted by Weirdling This shot has been taken a huge amount of times but it's still one of my favorites that I've done. I literally went here just for this...and am still so obsessed with it I'm trying to make abstract artwork out of it [with little luck this far]. http://i162.photob...xweirdlingx/79.jpg

| | | I'm new to exploring, but the most exciting thing I've ever found were chairs strung up from the ceiling of an abandoned hotel. It was really haunting, but I'm not entirely sure why. I guess they just kinda reminded me of dead bodies. :/ Wish I could go back.

| | | Walking around a location a month or two ago I saw what looked like a pile of trash in the wooded parking lot next door. Turns out someone dumped a huge pile of belongings, possibly a small storage container's worth. After digging through the pile we realize there's some neat stuff in there. I ended up with a huge pile of stamps which I later sold on E-bay for roughly $200 and some vintage Armenian cognac.

| | | Lmao. Yes it did. Including the gallon jug of extra letters I also found there. I ended up going back a week later and took it figuring someone would probably just end up smashing the thing anyway. Cheesesteaks at my place, you guys bring the beer!

| | | I've probably mentioned finding the $556 in a house before I was "exploring" [as I consider it], just curiously poking around. Well last week I found a fragmented necklace and discarded it quickly figuring it was crap. My girlfriend grabbed it and it's sitting next to my computer now awaiting a jeweler. The remaining parts of the chain have the 14k stamp on them. The eight pearls, which I instantly assumed were crap, are different shapes, not entirely round, and have a rougher texture after you rub them gently together. I may have just made up for the week I spent between jobs this month with no income

Looks like lonely chair got depressed and couldn't take it anymore. All these people taking pictures and then leaving him again.....

| | | This old Ford was completely closed in here by piles of old junk and trash. It looked as though nothing in the place had moved in several years. Definitely the coolest thing I have found.

But then... how would other explorers enjoy it? I have a better idea. What if I just dress up like it in an abandoned building somewhere, and you "happen upon it"??

| | | I found a fresh cigarette on a morgue table last week and tossed it to take a better shot. Told a friend who was at the school later in the day. He called me, had me guide him down the halls to it, and he smoked it. Fresh cigarette is a cool find. My friend dead from smoking it would be kinda cool too. But a sad kind of cool.

| | | The coolest things I have found. 1. An old alarm clock from an abandoned hotel.
2. An old cash register from and old gas station.
3. Old 1940's Philco Freezer from a service station.

| | | Hard to see since I didn't bracket and blend yet when taken, but the hanging things blocking the window a bit are film casings for the movie Shutter Island in a building they'd filmed at.

Although, I also found a working Gamecube in a house that went vacant late last year. But that's more unexpected than awesome.

| | | The other day I found what I'm pretty sure was a human spine and pelvis. They were behind a house that was boarded up from the inside (only POE was a window I had to remove... No idea how the house got sealed like that) and empty except for a portable toilet and a mattress. So yeah, sent an anonymous tip to the police, and I'll never be going near that place again.
