| | | http://www.uer.ca/...urrpage=1&pp#post6 This. I stumbled into a run down old house and discovered that it had been completely untouched by anyone since what seems to be the 1930s. The entire house was immaculate, and there were still clothes in the closets. I wanted so badly to take more photos, but was using film and ran out...

| | | My childhood best friend's house is currently abandoned, has been for about two years while the powers-that-be fight about it's future. It's a really cool brick house built in the 30's. When I snuck in I made immediately for the basement and the bomb shelter where I found--ta da!!!--some of the Barbie stuff my friend and I used to store there when we were kids. It was really really really really cool. I left the stuff there; it was all mildewy and gross. The visit was very thrilling but very sad. Even before being abandoned the home hadn't been cared for properly in years and was falling apart. I lost the pics when my old laptop crashed or I'd post a couple. I plan to go back in and take more pics this summer when I"m in my hometown visiting.

| | | Among the many interesting things found while UEing, my favorite thing to find are files, especially in abandoned psychiatric wards. I could read them all day, just sitting around and learning about the reasons for peoples' admission, their daily routine, treatment, and recovery. It's always so interesting. This one place that I explored recently had thousands of files left behind, and it was extremely sad because this place had a huge history of abuse and neglect. At least the patients' hardships weren't completely lost and forgotten, and someone can remember them. Oh yea one time I found a bunch of frogs living in nasty stagnant water in some basement. It was pretty surprising to find a bunch of life in a place so dead.

| | | I have been wracking my brain trying to come up with a good answer. Among the choices are a mummified rat/chihuahua thing (my team still can't figure out what it is), a stairwell that now is a tomb for hundreds of dead birds, a diary from 1952 used as a maintenance log in an abandoned power plant, a couple of World War 1 era gas masks, world war 2 era ammunition boxes (full of screws though), a 1947 Ferrari, real bumper cars, and we even found Negro Jesus once. But I'll have to say that this is the coolest thing we've found:

| | | Posted by explorobit In one place that we were in we found an empty wooden barrel and for some reason that was insanely cool at the time. We still talk about it In the same place was what we referred to as the doom bathroom - it looked like something out of silent hill or like a saw movie or something. The brick wall was crumbling down and a pile of bricks sat half on the toilet and it was all dirty etc. Not very exciting stuff unfortunately, hope to find something more interesting soon!
|
Also, there better have been a leprachaun in that barrel. And..... did you get an hdr of it.
