last i checked, all 3 are still standing.

last summer, a bunch of my friends got surrounded and caught by cops in the courthouse, but once the cops saw they were photographers and not scrappers, they just got yelled at and let go.

i wanna be sedated

We talked to a Highland Park Police officer two weekends ago who advised us that they were keeping a closer eye on abandoned buildings. One in our group was carrying their camera in plain view while crossing Woodward avenue, and a passing Police car whipped right around and had a chat with us. They're pretty nice, just a little tired of dealing with yobs like us.

If you see them again you might advise them to, you know, take the illegal narcotics with them when they leave a building to rot. I wasn't kidding about that heroine and crack.

Thankfully, this was the crime free utopia of Highland Park.

Detroit doesn't exactly deserve such a bum wrap from you guys, We had absolutely no problems the entire time we were there. Detroit is a place of wonderment if you just use some common sense.

Highland Park was accessible and extremely laid back. Their Police department was re-constituted in 1997 after the public fire/safety department was Separated back into Police and Fire Units. Highland Park has many of the same Budget woes as the Greater Detroit Area.

You gotta love the amount of shit they left laying around in there:

Cops gave us a chat when we were there, too. I'd imagine they might be starting to get annoyed at the sheer number of tourists stopping by...

i got arrested there early 2009, spent several hours in the police station close to McDonalds, finally leaving with no problem.

Avoid this place, it is monitored with mini cameras and motion sensors.

HAHAHA thats ridiculous! If you really believe that you're retarded and if you dont you're a dick for trying to shoo people away from the place.

A police department, that didn't exist for a few years because the city ran out of money and ceased to exist, probably can't afford to wire up one of the thousands of abandoned buildings in their jurisdiction with mini cams and motion sensors.
