Abandoned shop

Been by here a few times but construction workers on the road nearby always dissuaded me from exploring. Hooray for weekends!
So this was pretty neat, and the assortment of abandoned junk-treasure was staggering.

Unfortunately I broke my camera during a recent adventure and the screen no longer works, so I didn't notice that it had been taking blurry out-of-focus pictures the whole time. I got 4 sharp ones, and one of a kitchen I thought was interesting despite still being out of focus.

Anyone recognize the place?

Emma!?

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

Looks like Mechanicsville, right by Lemieux... is that place vacant? I thought it was still in use. How's entry? High-Risk?

I've seriously got to spend a weekend in Ottawa soon! (Once again I'm on the train to Toronto.)

I gleaned from some heritage project posters that some kind of project is going on for preservation. The risk is pretty significant compared to your standard middle-of-nowhere abandonments, but still pretty easy to get in and out quick and unseen.

If you can squeeze some UE in while you're in Toronto I'm sure you're not missing out on the Bytown, some cool stuff but it's still pretty small.

Also, good eye DCC!
