|  | | | Went for a walk around after checking out the graffiti on the rails to Lemieux when what do I see nestled behind some saplings and chain linked off but some ruins. Explore? Don't mind if I do!
Pretty cool, you can even get into a small section of the basement through a ground level window but there really isn't much to see down there. There was a little person-nest made up behind some rubble in the back, so if you check it out don't be surprised by signs of life.
It was kind of weird when I made it all the way around and found this shaggin' wagon, at first I was super excited because I thought someone had dumped it but hearing voices made me decide to stay away since whoever stashes their ride in the greenery by some ruins probably isn't expecting company at 9AM.
All this to say, I never got to answer the question, who 'ze?

5. I guess it's probably weirder about that chair up in the wall though. Maybe angry giants razed this place?

Thanks, I'll check that out sometime.
As for Bate Island... I went there once in a blizzard, and in every lot, there was a car or two, running, with a male sitting behind the wheel. It seemed kinda creepy since there's about 8 lots, a lot of guys apparently waiting around.
I got nervous, figured someone sort of drug deal was going down. Didn't think standing around with my big white Canon 70-200 lens would be a smart thing to do; I left.
A few months later I mentioned this strange occurrence to a friend, who immediately burst out laughing at me:
Apparently it's a gay men's meat-market or hook-up point.
Who knew?

When I was showing another explorer the GG drain I told him I'd meet up with him in Rockliffe Park near the entrance to the drain. So he dutifully parked his car in the end parking lot at the park, sat for a while waiting for me. He got creeped out by the single men sitting in cars so he went for a stroll in the woods. When we finally met up near the drain entrance he looked a bit like the Pied Piper with this entourage of gay men following through the trails in the forest. Perhaps it was the fact that he was wearing rubber boots...

It was torn down around the time they rebuilt the bridge.
