the "wireframed" structure

Driving home from a trip some friends and I spotted this from the highway. All it was, was block walls and concrete pillars. It seemed there was no foundation to the structure unless the grass had already covered it. If the building was ever built it would have been HUGE.

You know I think I may have seen this from the interstate when I drove that route last summer. I wasn't paying attention to the map, but it seems like that was the general area that we were in. I don't remember it being huge though, but I only got a glimpse as we drove by and I remember wanting to get off the road and check it out. If it wasn't that it was something similar in the area.

I wish I had time to make some quick stops on that trip, there were a few things that looked worth looking at visible from the road. Even a dilapidated gas station next to an active one that for some reason I only got out and looked at when we pumped, and didn't go in or take any pictures.

Screw drive time constraints on my trips south this summer!

I Google earthed a little bit. Found my abandoned gas station just a few exits to the north. Found what I think was the building I saw, and after comparing your pictures with the aerial image, I think we might have the same building.

Is this what you saw?

I go back and forth from S Florida and Sarasota to UF pretty regularly, and I've spotted this thing a good couple of times. Definitely looks a lot huger from gEarth than it does from the highway.

yup thats it! yeah its a lot bigger than it looked from the highway. Its amazing how the trees have invaded the structure.

right next to it there was a local guy who was fishing in his pool, we asked him what it was supposed be, but he didnt know.
