Our visit to the Solid Waste Incinerator

I know most of the Texas explores have been here but I've wanted to see this spot for years. I've hurd a lot of rumors about it, so I never made the trip to see it. I didnt think it would be worth the time because I've hurd it was sealed and even if we did make it inside that the place was packed wall to wall with old broken down appliances. So when the crew {shanerrr, jason, mrs fatwax4} and myself made the trip I was excited to see what I've hurd wasnt true. well, at least not anymore. I've seen pics of the old appliances that filled the place at one point, but there isnt a single one left inside. It was also easy to tell that the place was once sealed tight but the "locals" have been "working" on it so we where able to find a way in. It wasnt the easiest way to get in and we would have missed it if we dont know what to look for.

nice! reminds me of a few spots back home in stl.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

I gotta agree with 2X. Great shots. Nice to see it's not an appliance grave yard any longer.

I don't have anything against wasps -- I kinda like them, in the abstract -- but that macro shot of the pointy-ended girl on her nest made me pucker up, and I don't mean for a kiss.

thanks, I was happy to see the place was cleaned up. the wall to wall stoves was the main reason I never made the trip to see it.

same here, im glad we didnt get out to it until it was cleaned up. I dont think I would have enjoyed it as much if we would have seen it while it was used as a dump for old appliances.

theres a lot of trash thats been dumped in the field in front of it though.
