|  | | | I just want to share our latest adventure.
Our original plan was to check out the abandoned sewer system under the deaf school in faribault. The first time I went I got into only one tunnel and this time I want to see what else there was. Upon arrival we were quickly discouraged by what we saw.
Its nice to see that who ever put that cement there hoped at some point we might try to enter once again. After seeing that we moved down the bluff to the other tunnels.
Foiled again!!!
Third times charm? 
Maybe for another time. This one was heavily welded in place. In this case third time was not a charm. Oh well. We then decided to head down to the area around the regional center.
I'll post these photos in a little bit...

Looks interesting, but a little sketchy do to the fact it probably leads into the prison. I think I'll take the long way in, you getting arrested.

This gate means business!!!
Here is a shot down the long tunnel that leads into the hill side.
After we finished up there, we went to see if any of the rooms in the giant root cellar were open.
On our way.
Several of the buildings from the regional center were pushed over the hill side to make room for new ones.
At the beginning of the tunnel.
The crazy thing about this tunnel is that every 10 or 15 feet there is a walled up room. There are at least 20 rooms on each side. I have been told that the original use for the tunnel was as a root cellar for the reginal center. Food for 3000 people were stored here. Guess theres a reason they called it a funny farm. I always wondered if one of the rooms had a tunnel leading into the complex on the hill.

As I was saying before there are many room in this tunnel.
Sexy!!!
After we left the tunnel we crossed one of several cemeteries. The majority of the markers were from around 1914 or so. Originally they were just givin numbers and later someone created headstones with their actual names on them.
Some of the names have been lost forever. Only a number remains.
After a nice walk through the woods. We came upon the police dog training area and prison maintenance storage area.
Tables and razor wire remind you of where you are.
Here is something interesting.
The best part is that thing that looks like a big ladder worked really great as a ladder. No joking it was all ready there when we arrived.
The inside was very cool. These silos were very well built.
Looking north towards the prison.
After being told by security that this small portion is private property and that we should stick the trails, we left.
On our way back we took the large tunnel back to the car. Some how we over looked this very cool looking hole into on of the chambers that line either side of the tunnel.
Inside.
In the back there is a small tunnel that connects all of the chamber for that side. unfortunately I am to big to fit but it goes the whole length of the main tunnel.
Coming out!
After not being able to get into the deaf school tunnels, we still had an epic day of exploring. Hope you enjoyed because I did.

There's some info online about the super prison sewer tunnel, it was refurbished a few years ago to prevent sewage leaks into the river.

When we were in there before we found a hole in the roof of the tunnel that looks like it was blocked from the other side. Maybe a tunnel or room above the one we were in? It was a hole in the roof that was being blocked by two blocks of limestone and dirt can be seen in a crack between the two stones. Possibly another way in?

If you are referring to the shot of the prison tunnel, the manhole is not accessible.

I will add butter knives to the kit for sure!!!!
As for drunkyard I think there's probably one on every crew. I hang with a guy like that. They're the most valuable tool in the kit. Just insert beer and there good to go.
