| | | I'm new to the site but I've done a bit of UE, mainly draining. I'm from Ann Arbor, MI and I was wondering if anyone has found some cool drains in A2 or within reasonable driving distance. The only accessible pipe I've been able to find in the city is a 0.8km 6' RCP that carries Mallett's Creek (I'll be posting photos soon). It's an OK drain, but RCP only has so much appeal. I hear there's an older system under downtown, but I've yet to discover an entrance. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks.

| | | I'd be down for some exploring too. I'm about 13 miles outside Ann Arbor but I rarely go there, I spend most my time in Detroit.

| | | Is there good draining to be done in Detroit? I've always thought Detroit's stormwater system was still combined with sewers.

Not really, but I live on the east side and work on the west side of the state so I am back and forth constantly.

| | | I lived there for a little bit. Even had the drains mapped out once. Never got a chance to explore any of them and now I'm not sure where that paper went. Anyway, you can find the drain maps online. The county is nice enough to post them. They're a little hard to decipher and I've found at least one not marked so you're best bet is just to walk along the Huron River and keep you're eyes peeled. PM if you want a couple specific spots.
Those doors stay closed...staring...waiting...plotting. I must find out their secrets. |
