Needing some help from my south region friends

I know this may not be the place to do it, but I have to do SOMETHING. I feel we've done all we can do, now it's just a matter of getting the word out.

My step son, who is 15 did not show up at home after school yesterday as he normally does. After some investigation, we believe him to be a run away. The reason behind it is still unknown, but we have posted fliers and are working with area school bus drivers to keep a look out for anyone matching his description. Because of the history of his girlfriends recent searches, we think they may still be in the Fort Worth/Dallas area and just trying to lay low in parks or under overpasses.. maybe even drains.

I know we have a large number of people here who see places normally unseen by the public eye... which is why I think it's important to get the word out to all my fellow explorers.

Forrest is 15, very light skinned Hispanic, 5'5 about 135 lbs. He has black hair with red highlights and black rimmed glasses. He usually wears a hoodie, even when it's hot outside and may be carrying a backpack and possibly a guitar case.

His girlfriend is 14, she looks about 12. She is white, very thin and has hair just past her shoulders that is brown and very straight. She also wears glasses and may be carrying a guitar case of her own.

If you see him or anyone matching his description, please call 911. There is currently a missing persons out on him.

Again, I'm sorry if this is inappropriate for UER, but as I said before, I can't just sit here and wait for something to happen. I have to do everything I can think of to do.

Thanks

For one of our own as special as you and as important as this, not inappropriate at all! I think we would have been more pissed if you didn't ask for our help!

Keep us posted on anything we can do to help!

It would also help to look into his internet communication, as well. Facebook, MySpace, school website forums, and other place he might frequent. Secondly, go to school talk to his teachers, his friends, and also if he has contacted any of your extended family.

Usually people that run away have signs that lead up to them as well. Obviously, check with his girlfriend's friends, HER teachers, and her parents.

Not that you haven't already done this - I would have - put posters all around town IMMEDIATELY, and if they have a credit card (??) check financial records.

G'luck and for sure God bless.

I would honestly get a private investigator involved as well or a bounty hunter. They usually have the best skill sets for tracking people down. I would take a week off from work, and basically make this all happen NOW vs. 10 days from now. Be optimistic, but also check local sexual preditors and other people that might be involved. Beat the pavement till your feet are numb and you can walk anymore.. and do it again the next day.

He'll show up .. and this will show how you care/love for him.

I cream, you cream, we all cream for .. white spooge.

Thank you... everyone for your support in this. I knew you guys were a special bunch of folks. As of now, we have tracked down some friends, but the school refuses to be involved. My husband is outside the school now waiting for the bell to ring with a huge stack if fliers. One kid already reported seeing Forrest yesterday at a gas station getting into a white car, driven by a 'lady.' We have gone to pawn shops looking for his guitar, and have fliers everywhere, even on school buses facing traffic. I agree.. I will wear my shoes thin tracking down this kid. As far as early signs of him planning this, there are some, but it really surprised us because he's not really one of those kids you'd expect it from, but I know his mom is a very busy person between work and school and when he's with us we focus on him and the other kids by soending lots of family time. (which is a part of why I've not been exploring much). He knows we are open and understanding parents, his dad and I... and he knows he can come to us with anything, which is why this is bothering us so much and has us worried out of our minds.

Update: A friend said they were ''going to Oklahoma or something.'' So all we know is he got into a white car with a lady and is heading or has gone to Oklahoma.

I'm so sorry Happie! I can't even imagine what you must be going through. I hope you guys are able to find him and that he's safe. I think it's extra shitty that the school refuses to help. Seems to me like they should be more than willing to offer up whatever help they can possibly give.

We don't have a picture of the girl, but her mom is being active and staying on the police about this case, but they are not really much help. This is the second night he's been missing and still no call from a detective. It's unbelieveable.

So we've been investigating ourselves. We've had several connections with his friends and have been told SO many stories. One story was they were going to Oklahoma. Another said Colorado 'Or something...'. So my husband went to the school today to hand out fliers to the kids. He didn't want to be creepy on school property, talking to kids and stuff, so he talked to the kids walking home that looked like they'd hang out with Forrest. After that, he asked a guy who lives near the school who was mowing his lawn. The yard guy asked if he played guitar. Charlie said yes, and he was carrying his guitar with him, according to some kid. So the guy points out a house where a bunch of young people live, and they all come and go after midnight. He said they keep to themselves, don't bother nobody... but they all play guitar and he see's a lot of young people go there with guitars.

So we come back later and there is a white car in the driveway. We knock on the door 3 times, no answer. We hear a noise from inside.. i see someone peek out the blinds, but still no answer. Then I bang on the door, and some Shaggy look alike stoner walks out with a peanut butter sandwich in each hand. We explain who we are, and who we're looking for. He said, "Oh, I've never seen that kid before. He came up missing yesterday? Yeah.. that sucks. I'm sorry man... but you know how kids are. We really don't know what we're doing to our parents.. don't think about it." I said, "Yes.. I did the same thing when I was his age. At this point, we just need to know he's safe... Everyone is very worried. He doesn't need to tell us if he's not ready, but we have toknow he's safe and doesn't need help." The guy said he understood.. and took the flier and said he'd call us if he heard anything about the kid.

This guy seemed weird to me, like he was lying. There was more conversation, but nothing interesting. It just seemed like a bad act. Plus, it took a long time to answer the door and someone looked out and saw us as soon as we walked up. So we went back around 10pm for a sort of stake out I guess. The garage door was open, they had a pool table and some other stuff... and then the guy was outside looking at the ground with his cell phone for something, then another guy across the street was doing the same thing. It was so odd. I'm not sure what they were doing, but then it looked like they were looking at us and they went inside and closed the garage door.

I feel like he's okay, but one story we heard was that they were planning on getting a ride to Haltom City, then WALKING to Oklahoma! I suggested a road trip down 35 and stopping at the rest stops to post fliers.

So there is my update. Tomorrow is a new day... I hope we get some good news.

Oh, and a private investigator is being hired. That should help.

It's definitely something I never thought I'd feel. I'm not really 'worried' I have times of being very very sad. Now that it's for sure sounding like a run away situation and not an abduction, .. Well, I hope he's smart enough to not put himself into harms way. And as far as the school, the PI will be able to get info out of them that we couldn't. I know that's really sad.. his school doesn't have the best reputation for being a good school, though.

Sorry you are going through this. I'll keep an eye out, and I'm sure pete will do the same. Wish i could do more.

BTW, the pawn shop thing is a dead end. Pawn shops have to hold on to stuff for 90 days before they can put it out, and are prohibited from telling you if it's there by privacy laws.

More like prohibited from telling you because if they tell you, they'll lose the money they gave the guy. The cops can see the book, though, if you can get one interested.

I'm going to Tulsa this weekend, so PM or call me if there's anyplace in particular I should be looking. I don't have any contacts at street-level, though.

I cant imagine what your going through, sorry that this has happened. Its ridiculous that the school isnt getting involved not even a little bit just to help out. When I was in high school something like this happened and the school put up fliers all over the school, doors, hallways, even at the entrance doors. They found the girl and I believe there were tips from just visitors entering the school. Idk I feel they owe you that much.

Your a mother you were built strong just hang in there and I hope you keep receiving info on his whereabouts.

Update!

After checking the history on Forrest's girlfriends computer, we found where she was looking at a pawn shop near the school.

Since they were seen carrying their guitar cases, we went to the pawn shop and left a flier, just in case they decided to TRY to pawn their guitars. Well, they tried late yesterday afternoon and the shop owner recognized them and called the cops.

The girl was released to her father, and Forrest taken to juvenile detention in Fort Worth.

We picked him up last night and now the game of finding out if he wants to run away again begins. We're not sure exactly WHY he thought running away was a good idea, but he will be going through counseling and therapy and we talked to him for about 4 hours about his feelings and what he was thinking and hopefully now we're on the same page as him and can help him get through whatever emotional issues he's going through.

As it turns out, they WERE sleeping on the street both nights. In 2 1/2 days, all they ate was ONE donut and some M&M's. He said they found a place under the road to sleep, but it was creepy because they kept hearing animals. It seems to me that them being found by someone exploring wasn't too far out there.

Thank you EVERYONE for your concern, encouraging words and help in keeping your eyes open!

I'm so Glad everyone is ok and glad from what it sounds like he is willing to talk, so many times they just won't at that age. It's such a fine line to walk to let kids know that as parents we really do WANT to know whats going on in their lives and want to be there to talk with them but yet not push them so much they withdraw and shut themselves off.
