So I was walking yesterday and noticed that there seems to be a large drain system in millwoods park the only thing is it needs to be hit at night and will require either L-picks, or hex keys to get in from the top, see the pic.

I would love to hit this with you. I have seen it before, but as you said it would require tools and have to be at night. SWEET!

I'll be in the park in the early afternoon as soon as I post this actually, doing some more recon on this one. See if I can find an alternate entrance and take some more pics.

So I went there and checked it out and Im wondering if it just goes through to the dry pond? But it seems it might go under the soccer field possibly? If snide and I dont go out to the plant tonight....If you live by millwoods we can car pool to the plant if you choose.

I kick ass, everyone else sucks.

I'm pretty sure it is only a channel that allows water from the dry pond to flow into the wet pond and vice versa. It would be neat to check out, but I wouldn't waste too much time. I maybe wrong the manhole cover in the middle of your photo looks like a utilities vault of some sort (telephone, electric). You probably won't find anything interesting under it. The closer you get to the river the bigger the drains get in Edmonton.

Nice to see some people with interest in draining on here. Edmonton really does have some world class drains.

Soooooo I was down in the park and I found the key to the door. I left it open but held shut with a rock.
The tunnels under there are pretty vast there is a chamber right under the walkway with 2 tunnels either side that go under the park. If anyone is interested we are going back Thursday night to do a further investigation of the Egg shaped tunnel we found it was MASSIVE probably 9-10 feet high and about 4-5 feet wide but in an oval shape. It was pretty crazy. Friday night anyone wanna meet around 11? lets find out whats at the end of the tunnel.

11:00pm Thursday april 22 millwoods park lets meet on top of the tunnel...

I went into the drain at the south end of Tiger Goldstick ravine yesterday afternoon. Four foot dia., nothing spectacular, though I did not go very far, maybe fifteen mins. It was hard on the legs. When you enter there is a bend about twenty feet ahead and then there is a slope upward thats kind of slippery. I believe I ended up under Baseline Road but I don't know for sure. I would like to explore this one further, but it would be nice to have some company. You know, for safety.

I love the cool damp air in there, very refreshing after walking in the blazing sun for twenty mins to reach the damn thing.

Mister Pacifist, and all others for that matter, I am extending a formal invitation to meet tonight at the park to explore this drain further. We are meeting at the top of the outflows, around ten thirty, ten fourty five. If you are interested in coming along, be there. This could be the forming of a serious Edmonton crew!!!!!
