We went on a road trip today, and on the way there, spotted a strange brick tower behind some trees way off the road. T'was this:

Unfortunately, it was empty, but it was cool nonetheless.

Adventure is out there.

Turns out Frank Wills was a pretty noted architect; he did a lot of other Gothic Revival churches around the country. Interesting also to note is that he died before he turned 35, with some of his earliest work having been done when he was as young as 25 years old. Frank packed a lot into his young life.

And yeah, that's how I pinpointed this location!

I just looked him up, and realised that the sign I photographed doesn't match the name on wikipedia... I wonder which it actually went by. It also gave me a location of where I was (other than past the curve with that ugly tree on the hill), which is good, because I saw two other places I didn't get to stop at. Thanks for the motivation, lol.

Alright, all y'all old timers like me... who recognizes the peeled-away logo at the top of the sign?

Posted by mynameisash_lee

Yeah, baby, that's the Bicentennial logo! Party like it's 1976, dude.

(Though the rest of the lettering doesn't seem to match. Strange.)
