|  | | | Hey everyone, I'm a student journalist from the Spark magazine writing a story on urban exploration in Cincinnati, and since I do not have the first clue about what this hobby entails, I was hoping one of you fine people would be willing to let me and a photographer for the magazine tag along on a trip somewhere around Cincinnati. Why, bfinan0, haven't you heard?! Writing a story about urban exploration is all the rage! You can hardly be invited to the fanciest journalism balls unless you've done one!

If you're at the level to have fancy journalist balls, you'd also have the balls to try exploring firsthand instead of posting on the internet how clueless you are about it and how you'd like someone to research your story for you.

| | | | Okay, I did come off pretty stupid with that post, and for that I apologize. I do know what urban exploration is, the story came up from one of the editors, and being the only person in the room who knew what they were talking about, I took it.
Second, the reason I'm looking for someone is because the magazine's policy is that a writer must have several "expert sources", i.e. people that are knowledgeable on the subject you're writing about. I do not explore for a hobby, thus it's reasonable to track down people that do, accompany them on one of their trips, and through that have a more solid foundation to build your story on.
As to making you guys do my research for me, I'm already interviewing a guy (http://zfein.blogspot.com/), and am planning to meet a few more sources afterwards. I'm not asking anybody to do anything for me except let me follow them around, as creepy as that looks in writing.
I apologize for sounding like a ditz, and if anybody is still willing to let me tag along on one of their trips, I'd be infinitely grateful.
