The Epic Vaults under Cole Park in Dallas, TX...

Hello everyone!

New to UER here but been exploring for a few years now. I've read about a few posts concerning the cole park retention vaults in Dallas and thought I'd reply to that with pics and video from my exploration. I've only known a few people whose been in them but I also found out I haven't seen the half of it yet so I need to go back again another time due to some new info I found. But anyway we rode floats into the tunnels the first time in through some gross water with fish and trash but it was fun. These aren't the best pics because I didn't want to take a nice camera. The ones where you can see the first huge chamber are on the last couple pages. Anyway here's the pics:

http://viewmorepic...mId=2803444&page=1

And here's the links to the videos I took if anyone is interested...kinda crappy quality cuz again didn't want to take and ruin my good camera (considering I ruined one in the process the first time)
First video - in this one we rode the floats in (i had some editing issues and a 10 minute clip repeated so you'll have to skip it, and the first 5 minutes are just us blowing up the floats so you may wanna skip that too...really the best parts are towards the end of these clips):
http://vids.myspac...l&videoid=64101108
Second video - in this one we took bikes into the tunnels to see how far we could go, never found an end (this ones the worst quality so I apologize):
http://vids.myspac...l&videoid=64068672

(Updated march 18, 2010 - I shortened this post just to include the links for everything and a more brief description)

Also check out my other urbex pics if anyone is interested:

Cmon, let's be nice, now...he's new here and trying to share his explorations; that's a good thing. And I'm sure there are those who haven't been around so long to whom this IS new and interesting.

Thank you Imbroglio...

...And yeah it was built 17 years ago but I've never seen anywhere online or heard of anyone who had been inside of them OTHER then when it was under construction or if they had gotten permission from the city. I got in 6 months ago. Also wasn't sure if anyone had gotten in the same way I did cuz the way I went in was pretty gross lol. But if you've gotten in I'd love to see some links to your pics. I love hearing about other people's adventures.

well we didn't find any human remains while we were down there lol then again we still have yet to explore some of the other sections too

and thanks Mr_Fiend! I try to find new/rarer places that I don't see on here much but I will say I have explored lots of places that many people on here have been to as well I'm sure...I'm gonna try to keep posting on the rarer or new places though, at least until I run out.

Those are really neat pics! As a new explorer, I really want to check out areas like that (with an experienced UE or course! )

That looks like the storm drain Alex and I were in when we were looking for the Cole Park Detention Vault in 2006.
We didn't find it either. Cool drain though!

Oh well...
Maybe someday.

(all the real good stuff is viewable by level 4 members only)

they had to create that elite level when they started making just anyone level 3

(that or they stopped posting really good stuff here)

Well I'll leave the real vaults up for speculation since some people don't think they exist or that I wasn't close...because my pics aren't the real vaults I know but closest thing I could get...just thought it was a fun draining a friend and I went on in search of them and thought I'd share.

That *is* a great drain. When we were down there, the only noise that penetrated from the surface was thunder. It was clear when we went in and only partly cloudy when we emerged but we were a bit worried for a while.

Wow...that's awesome! Sounds fun but scary...I'd hate to be caught in the rain down there. Every time I've gone it's been clear...my only concern was health issues with the floating dead fish carcasses and trash lol. But yeah, great drain.

We used an inflatable canoe and saw lots of turtles and catfish but it was the nitrile gloves floating around that got me thinkin'.
