a place to spend your golden years

This is a retirement home nestled in a north texas neighborhood. Its only been closed for around 2 years but decay is setting in quick because of vandals and thieves. Place had a strange feel to it because lots of personal items where left behind. Clothing, personal photos, unused medications, books, and medical supplies where scattered through out the building. We also found used and unused syringes and blood samples in the med room, canned food in the kitchen, dirty landry in the landry room and drug paraphernalia in the lobby. Not really sure why they would leave this much behind but made for a interesting night.

Sure, we can laugh about it now...but when that rhino charged I thought we were done for.

This is an awesome find! I love it when there are still signs of what used to be.

This was new for me ! We always find a few things here and there {old signs, chairs, beds ect ect} but the locations have usually been abandoned for so long that theres not much left.

Yea same here. I guess that's why I love it when someone finds and shares something like this.

So we {my wife and I} went back last night to show the place to -jason- {uer user name}. it was only about 3 weeks after the first time. I wasnt expecting much because I didnt think meny ppl knew about it. When we got inside I was sad to see that scrappers and looters have been hitting it hard and for some reason I started to have a bad feeling. The first time I went, every room had something in to check out. This time over half the rooms where completely empty. They even took the blood samples from the med room {wtf}. walking through the place we could see that they ripped out a large metal sink out of the kitchen, took half the beds, stripped all electrical wiring, removed all copper fittings on the sinks and started to punch holes in the walls to get to the hot water heaters. VERY SAD TO SEE IT GET THIS BAD IN ONLY 3 WEEKS.
We did find some cool stuff to check out though. The only room we couldnt get in to last time was wide open this time and In one room Jason found a small alarm box that goes off if you remove a magnet from the top of it. We thought it would be a good distraction if someone ran up on us. So we carried it with us for a while. Thinking if we had 2 we could set it off and run the other way {in case we ran in to scrappers, looters or the police}. After we explored a little longer jason decided he didnt want to carry to box anymore and put it down. we went through a couple more rooms, then all of a sudden we hurd a strange noise so we all stopped and turned off our flashlights. I was facing a different way {then my wife and jason} when I hurd Jason say "fuck this shit" and watched him and my wife whip in to a panic. Both of them turned around and started to run the opposite way. Witch whipped me in to a panic so I started run. After we got outside I asked what happened. Both gave me a wierd look and said that they saw someone open the door that was behind us. Around that time we hurd a alarm go off. Im not 100% sure but to all of us thought it sounded like the alarm box that jason had earlier. We creeped around the corner keeping a eye out for a cop car {or anything for that matter} and quietly snuck back in to the wooded area behind the place. From the woods we watch to see if we could see anything but never did. No cars, no flashlights, no ppl, nothing.

Just another crazy night out exploring!
