I was driving and missed a turn and ran into this curious structure. I instinctively grabbed the camera and got out to take some shots.

No, it is Oklahoma County, it's actually like 5 minutes from Crossroads Mall in Oklahoma City here. It's a odd little place that no one around the area know's a thing about other than it's been left to ruin for almost 15 years I was told. Sadly, it's become a dumping ground.

I couldn't agree more! I love the wrong turns that set you back an hour or two.

Hey! It was like a three minute detour that one time AND! The roads were closed and all wacky! I take no responsibility! We both got there! Haha.

I think I heard this story in a Whataburger one night, while charging camera batteries...

Drains, drains, drains, drains, drains.

Ah man I love Whataburger! It totally bums me out thought that they got rid of the A1 Thick and Hearty burger. I loved that thing.

That place looks pretty cool. I'm curious as to what it was.

Hey man, I don't know if the same true up there, but here in Dallas the A1 comes around once a year. Nothing tells a drunk they'll be ok like an A1 Thick and Hearty! Now that's what I call gettin' out Whataburgered... <----Best commercial ever.

I am too, the locals near by didn't seem to have any idea other than telling me, "that's where we done dump all the stuffs we don't want no more." I kindly thanked them then walked away.

They had the promotion up here too, I think it was like Nov/Dec and May/Jun they ran it. Sadly, they really have dropped it from the menu for good. They had a semi-huge thing about it, even have a website devoted to it. The site has been reduced down to one page.
http://www.a1supportgroup.com/

Some big-wig had this to say about it too
"We understand the Thick & Hearty Burger has a loyal following and there will be some disappointment and even sadness at the news. It's never easy to say goodbye to a good friend," said Todd Coerver, Whataburger Restaurants, LP Vice President of Marketing and Innovation in a press release. "That's why we have set up a Support Group to help with the grieving process."

Customers are encouraged by the fast food company that was born in Corpus Christi in 1950 to call 1-877-A1SUPPORT (1-877-217-8776) or visit http://A1SupportGroup.com/ to commiserate with fellow A.1. lovers.

Crazy stuff. So unhealthy but so damn good.

What they should have said was, "We simply couldn't afford to carry A1 as a brand anymore, what with all the high electricity bills around here with the damn kids charging the cameras all the time."

Fuck Whataburger if that's how it is. I will buy a bacon cheeseburger with onions, and pull out my own bottle of A1 and pour it on my burger. Right there. And when I'm done, I'll pack up my camera and charger and GTFO. LoL

*edit* I'm left handed and my hand writing is atrocious, apparently it is beginning to have an effect on my typing as well.

I just assumed that Whataburger was following in the footsteps of McDonald's and their atrocious McRib, building false demand for a product by making it a "limited edition". "Support group" my left nut. I love Whataburger, but that irritates the heck outta me.

Note that you can order a burger with hickory sauce, even when they're not shilling the A1 burger.
