|  | | | Im sure you´ve all heard of the tragedy that happened in Madeira in last weekend. I live here, and fortunetely nothing happened to my family and house, but the tragedy happened dangerously closed near my house (100 mts). I took many photos and shot many videos, and i would like to share with you the panic, horror and the impact of the forces of nature. I dont know if you know the reasons of the disaster but it was due to a strong rain that ocurred in friday night causing an overflow in the stream.
This kind of phenomenon is regular is madeira, but what happened is without a doubt the worst natural disaster in Madeira. The downtown was completely destroyed, including a shopping center, local shops, the roads were filled with mud and debris from the stream. It is horrible. So far, 42 people were found dead.

im from madeira also but my part of the island didnt get hit this badly. funchal is such a beautiful city and its really a shame to see it like that. itll take months to go back to normal
