Yeah, probably. And yes, we've found the path going around the pond. Found that when we were looking for the reservoir.

COOL

Can you point to it with any accuracy on Google Maps?

Seems like it could have been military, hard to say though. Looks like the same structuring as the foundations at Peggy's Cove.

Alright fair enough, It does look a lot like that building in Peggy's cove, there probably from the same time period. Over the next couple weeks ill explore a bit more into the area, see if I find any more structures.

Keep following that road/path, I wouldn't be too surprised if there are more structures back there. Have you managed to find any history about the area?

Nothing but story's from people around, It might have been kept secret when it was built during the world war and after abandoned and forgotten about. Not really sure where you would start looking for records on something like this. Think that reservoir is related at all to this?

I think this might be an abandoned defense line for the defense of Halifax if there ever was an enemy landing at St. Margarets bay. There was even a US war plan approved in the 1930's to land there.

"The plan considers several land and sea options for the attack and concludes that a landing at St. Margarets Bay, a then undeveloped bay near Halifax, would be superior to a direct assault via the longer overland route."

I don't know if we were building outposts to defend against the Americans in the 1930s, but you never know..

Doesn't have to be for an American attack specifically, just saying that area would be susceptible for attack. If the locals are correct we were at war with the Germans at the time it was built.

But that building/foundation isn't anywhere near that area. Plus, that's what Fort Chebucto was for (along with various range finder batteries along the Chebucto Peninsula).

As well: I'm sure there used to be forts somewhere on the Aspotogan Peninsula just for that reason.
I'm thinking this foundation is from a possible listening post for U-boats (both WW eras). It would explain the cable trays in the main room. Also, the military and even former military workers are still pretty hush-hush about those types of buildings, even if they are dismantled and abandoned.

Very interesting, We may never know for sure what it is. Found another small foundation fairly close today, Also some sort of giant concrete slab.

Are these slabs on the same path as the foundation? Or off the main road/path?

Once your at the foundation you go right down another path. Its fairly close and made of the same material as those large blocks near the reservoir.
