Rain gear exists for a reason, lol.
I'm not too worried, as long as it's not crazy cold out.

About how far is it into the woods? Say about twenty minute walk or so?

I took another look at your pictures, the fourth one looks like those "blocks" might be what's left of a wall.

Yeah I'm totally intrigued by this as well. Need me to lend you some scuba gear? haha you can just dive and check the stuff out. If it's raining where you are today, I doubt you'll get a decent look in any hole out there. They'll be full, no?

Neither, it was too wet out to go find it. I had some rain gear, but my buddy had none. So we went up to Connaught Battery and York Redoubt for about ten minutes at a time.

I almost blew away at Connaught. And I took a look at that bunker just outside the gate at YR, it's completely flooded.

Would it be a good idea to call Parks Canada or the city about this? or would they just seal it and forget about it?

It's probably too far out of their way to do anything about it. But if you decide to go that way, you should first consider going to the Public Archives, see if you can't find anything about it.
