The day we discovered KD Station, we also did a pretty exhaustive search of all larger, older buildings in Sioux City in an attempt to find more abandonments to explore. Found part of an active complex that was abandoned, and explored it on a later trip. There is (or at least was) a couple other large abandoned buildings. One is accessible if you have the right gear; the other the potential entrance was far too obvious for me to be comfortable with. Aside from that, there isn't much, but I think there's still a smattering of small stuff here and there. Take a look at the maps (topo, Google Maps) and scout the larger buildings in the older neighborhoods, and you will probably find something worthwhile.

I want to be different. But I want to be different just like everybody else, because if I really were different, everybody would think I was crazy and weird.

I can't remember, but it shouldn't be that hard to find. All of them eventually lead to the river...

Was that the one where "the right gear" was me and a $2 nylon rope? The one that had pigeons nesting in toilets?

Hint, the first floor was pretty burnt out and destroyed, and the discrete entrance was down, down, down!

Turn off the internet and go play outside.

Yep, that's the one. Should be easy to find with that info.

Do this. Decide which areas might have abandonments (basically all industrial and commercial areas that aren't super new), plot out a route that thoroughly checks the entire areas, and drive the route. When you find one, scout the perimeter and look for any and all ways in, be sure to think outside of the box as to all conceivable places that one might find a way in or things that you could do to get in. You should figure it out.

This advice really isn't specific to Sioux City but goes for anywhere. I used to do this regularly in mid-size cities in Iowa and elsewhere, most of the time you find nothing but the scouting time is well worthwhile for the very few times you find something awesome.

You will find it if you look hard enough by systematically searching the city as I described.

RE the hospital: Yes, a couple of us went there many years ago. It may or may not still be accessible. Just be sure to be stealthy.
