Not quite as well written as winchs version but hope you enjoy the read and pics all the same!

Our first night and what looked like a nice building from the outside turned into the worst night sleep I have ever had, this building truly hated us for exploring it the noises it made where truly horiffic

On awaking we were all desperate to leave our hotel hell only for workers too turn up and start removing the heras fencing so we endured anouther half hour before our final departure. On our way out I turned round for one photo.

KOSMOS

Next up was the RTT Holiday home and the start of the roadtrip had begun.

RTT holiday home

We had some time on our hands before our journey to Varia so we decided to visit Transfo as it was in the area.
On our arival it was plain too see that some sort of stripping or renovation was happening so we waited until it was dark to quietly slip inside.

TRANSFO

We then headed to varia to bed down and get some well earned sleep but upon our arrival we found the access would be a little more interesting then first thought and local chavs trying to break the combo on the padlocked front door.
We retired to find some grub and discuss our access strategy I was worried I would struggle to get in as it involved climbing some scaff and the buggers had put some plastic pipes around the bottom pieces to deter climbers...... darkness arrived and one manfrotto tripod later and im up and climbing the scaff into Cinema Varia.

CINEMA VARIA

We left Varia and headed for Fort la Chartreuse in liege, I shot this place mostly on film so will add more pics later.

FORT LA CHARTREUSE

Fort la chartreuse amused us for a few hours but we found ourselves quickly done with the site, we decided to head for an abandoned goods railway station and boy did it deliver, it was only a small site but the trains and carriages made it an interesting place to photograph.

SNCB NAMUR

Onto our next site and we decided we were going to cook our own dinner on site so went shopping for food to bbq and fuel to cook with.
Our next sleep stop was St Josefsheim, the buildings looked impressive on our arrival and access was pretty easy we set up camp in a downstairs room and everyone found something good to sleep on (no rollmats this time!), we then headed outside to bbq our dinner in a make shift wheelbarrow, this pretty much failed so we saved most of the food to try again anouther night.

ST JOSEFSHEIM

Apart from the chapel the rest of the buildings were very uninspiring having been heavily stripped.
As we were finishing up we thought we had been busted but after hiding in the loft and observing the van it turned out it was local builders dumping there rubbish into a basement.

Next on our list was some industrial action in the ruhr valley.

SINTERLANGE

We spotted this scary doll head on the way out.

Next up was Zollverein Kokerie, we spent about half an hour just driving around the site to take it all in...... IT'S FU@@ING HUGE!!
I was a little worried about this site as when we were driving around it was obvious to see it was very active and we would have to be on our toe's to avoid being seen.It looked to me as if they were at the start of a stripping process possibly before demo??
We saw only a small part of what this site has to offer.

Next up was the unenviable job of a 4hr drive to Beelitz, this was fine apart from germans reversing into me and struggling to stay awake while everyone else sneaked in a few hrs kip

We arrived around 11ish and found a building to bed down in I was glad I had bought a decent sleeping bag and fleece liner as it had got very cold that night and a few of the crew struggled that night while I was toasty and warm

We awoke to frosty morning and started to explore, we would spend the entire day at Beelitz!

BEELITZ HEILSTATTEN

Lungheilstaten grabowsee would be our next stopover point, now this place was in the middle of the woods at the end of a twenty minute drive down a cobbled road, it felt to me on arrival in the pitch black that we were unwanted guests in this abandoned TB hospital as buildings lurched out of the darkness towards us. we were struggling to find a decent place to bed down and I was thinking of heading back to the car to sleep but it's times like this that you grab what ever you can find by the balls and make it work after that everything fell into place and we had one of the most enjoyable nights of the entire trip sitting round a roaring fire cooking vegetables and meat and drinking good beer and whisky!

LUNGHEILSTATTEN GRABOWZEE

(not many pics think some are on my film slr)

We then headed towards Berlin and to place called...... something, something Kinder Krankenhaus!
It was shit.....
We were chased by a German shepherd dog and it's green haired tramp of an owner. who told us the two rules of dogs...

1. Dont run (Fuck that if there's a fence and I can get over it then im running!)
2.The dog lives here and its her land??

On the way to the shit kinder krankenhaus we spotted a domed building so we headed for a looksee, it turned out to be a great little find.

PANKOW ROUNDHOUSE

We then checked out a set of co-ordinates that if were true would be the find of the trip.
We set the sat-nav and headed off too find our pot of gold and along the way we had rainbows to help guide us.
unfortunatley the main route into the site was blocked so we drove further into the woods for anouther entrance, we didn't find one so we parked up and did it the old fashioned way with a little help from google maps on our Iphones and Blackberrys

So... ENGLAND then?

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.
