I didn't really explore this place with UE specifically in mind. I worked there as an overnight janitor for a year. For three of those months I was the only overnighter in the joint. So even though I'm new to the concept of UE, I did explore the heck out of the place from natural curiosity.

Okay, I also want to get this out of the way. First off, my info is out-of-date. They have been majorly remodeling the school since a few months before I left. The layout isn't even the same anymore. Second, if something I write makes you a curious lil whippersnapper, I'll warn you that there are external and internal alarms all over the place, and the security company would call the maintenance dept if one of these went off on a weeknight. Standard protocol for such a call would be to either explain why the alarm went off ("I'm cleaning in there.") or tell them to call the cops. From my understanding the intention was to update the security alongside the remodel, but that might've been crap. Finally, there are people in the building, basically 24/5 (weekdays) and about 16 hours a day on the weekends, with the odd coach or teacher or priest showing up unexpectedly overnight as well. It's an incredibly active school. So if you did decide to explore here, chances are you would get caught, or spend so much time on the hiding end of a game of hide-and-seek, that you'd not get a bunch of exploring done. Plus, it scares the bejeepers out of janitors who think they're alone in the building to find people there after-hours. And, it's probably haunted.

So! Let me tell you about some of the odds and ends about the school as it was about two years ago. Unfortunately, I ain't got no stinkin' pictures. Sowwy. Janitors don't typically take pictures of the crap they clean up.

Starting at the north end of the school, there was the auditorium, music, and art depts. This was a pretty neat area. The school had some incredible artists. There was a darkroom, a bunch of kilns for pottery and jewelry making, and the standard painting and drawing section. Not too interesting from a UE perspective, probably, but interesting for a fellow artist like this bitter old fart.

The music department was mostly fun because I got to bang a gong.

The auditorium was pretty creepy on the standard night. But they did have a lot of stuff to see. They hold on to a bunch of props and backdrops, and there's an amazing wardrobe on the balcony backstage. The auditorium was a decent place to do some freerunning, and in so doing, I discovered access hatches to the catwalk that goes to the sound control and lighting booths. This catwalk goes over the auditorium, and there's a big empty space up there that I think is supposed to act as easy(er) access to lighting and ventilation over the audience seating. Also up there was access to the roof. The roof was a pretty great place to just hang out, except that dang security company would call every time I used the door. Should've just climbed the side of the building like those dang ninjers that attacked the school one night... It's a multi-dimensional dealie with ladders up the higher points over the auditorium and gym. There's also an open-air atrium by the library in the middle of the building where those dang ninjers dumped the soccer goals...

Once back inside, you could just take the ladder down to ground-level and continue on your way.

The science area was one of the more interesting places in the school, and was my designated cleaning area. Aside from the experiments they'd do, there was a room that had an aquarium full of Madagascar hissing cockroaches, and another with a tarantula. These were fascinating to no end, but one day, someone forgot to close the cockroach cage. This didn't get discovered until I went to clean the room...about twelve hours after school got out. Then, having a case of the heeby-jeebies, I turned on all the lights in the science wing, and sure enough, it was a full-blown infestation. Unsure of what to do even after calling my boss and begging him to close the school the following day to no avail, I went to town with the vacuum. I think I took about three showers the next day.

Pointless anecdotes aside, there was also a private access hallway connecting all the science rooms. Back here you'd find all manner of chemicals, equipment, cat carcasses (for the dissecting), and--at a certain time of year--squid.

Aside from this, the library was a very interesting place, especially for a book-lover. But they also have a huge amount of periodicals in storage. Maybe no one else would think this was interesting, but I did. Plus, I basically learned to vault off those tables, but that's the freerunner talking again.

The gym is the only other indoor place of note. There's a track above the gym area, with active areas behind the bleachers there. Behind the bleachers on the west side, the maintenance department stores a bunch of crap, and there could be found various props and decorations for school special events. On the east side, there's a weight room. These bleachers were pretty fun to climb when they were stacked, but if they were ready for use, they were a pain in the patooka to clean.

In the main gym, you had access to most of the locker rooms. In the ceiling panels above these locker rooms, you could basically get access to most of the other areas, until you ran into a load-bearing wall. However, I didn't need to do this because I had keys. It's kind of weird that one of the male coaches who had an access door to one of the girls' locker rooms had a stash of porn in there, but the door in the other coach's office that attached to the other girls' locker room was sealed off, though that office wasn't in regular use. I just thought that was odd.

The guys' locker room was disgusting and had similar ceiling paneling with a lot of stuff for the discovering, because them senior high boys loves to throw crap up in the ceiling.

There's also a pool in the gym area with a balcony area that is usually locked up but could be climbed to, if I hadn't had any keys. Outside of that balcony is access to the wrestling practice room. This little gem had a balcony overlooking the small gym, which could also be reached by climbing, if I didn't have any keys. The wrestling room was always stifling, between the pool next door and the heating unit in a nearby closet. But there was a rope to climb up to the rafters, and all manner of tumbling to be done in there, if you didn't mind a little case of staph.

Again up on the track, there's a maintenance storage closet that is actually (if I remember right) behind the scoreboard in the small gym. It's a cool little deal.

Outside of the building, there's the football field/track, the baseball diamond, and the soccer field. There's also a whole bunch of woods that I didn't explore because I actually did have some work to do. Lazy hooligans, I can't do all the exploring for you!

But again, getting into the building was easy two years ago, but you'd likely get caught. Please don't try this at home.

Oh, yeah, and there's supposedly a purple orb floating around somewhere on the grounds and someone said they saw a bunch of folks in robes walking into the woods one day.

I might have heard something about that, but the pool wasn't very active as far as suspicious or creepy events.
The auditorium's the creepiest place in the school. I heard someone got raped in there. I didn't get the jitters anywhere else.

I don't think the rapes actually happened, from what I know there was just a school play that was a little bit disturbing, and I think some of the electrical equipment went wrong during the show, and rumors have spurred from that. But still, kinda creepy I guess..I mean I guess this play had a rape scene that was a little too realistic.

Yeah, I could believe that. I just think it's a big empty space with lots of places to hide and enter, and tons of building noises. It's the kind of place that makes a person paranoid.
