Also a couple of farm houses.

PorkChopExpress and I headed out into the woods the other day and checked out a few succulent bits of history, right before I got chased out of the state by The Blizzard of '09.

The grist mill was built in the 1820's and closed in the 1940's. The store and houses were newer, but not by much.

That was a great day! I wonder if these structures made it through the storm? That was a big, heavy snow. It snapped a bunch of trees.

Next time we can go check out all of the other places I found. Well....if they made it through the storm.

I like this place. If it's ok, I'll post some of mine from almost exactly a year ago. My photography has certainly changed in that time.

Gears

Main drive - my only picture of the waterwheel out back has a ninja on it.

Machine

Main mill building with PCE outside it

Piano frame

Doorway

I think I recall other buildings nearby, and I hope I get to see them before they're gone.

I'm suddenly reminded of the Shrieking Shack (from Harry Potter). What a gorgeous location. If it's still up, I'd love to see it. The machinery is amazing. I love really old stuff like this.

Just went there today with FNG, Robby and co. It's still standing! However, I have noticed some fairly rapid decay in my last three visits. If you wish to see it you had better do so pretty soon.

That place was awesome, I loved the curved wooden chutes and that one completely round plank that I saw underneath where the gears were. I need to take more trips to Richmond before I leave the area for good.

Thanks for showing it to us Porkchop!
