tips from the expert

when you go out for a random bike ride at 4 pm in winter, and you ask yourself "shall I bring a flashlight?", "naah..." is NOT a correct answer.

Also, do not go ride unlit unpaved roads along a canal when it is completely dark, especially not when this road dead-ends after 2 km.

A phone backlight is not a flashlight.

Ow, I.m not using uer mobile when i.m comfortably at home... I do when I.m walking along canals...

I never leave home without a light. The problem is remembering to bring some way of attaching said light to my bike. I've been paying for that mistake for the last 8 weeks. X(

Sometimes I wonder if my obsession with flashlights led to my interest in Urban Exploration, or conversely, if my
interest in exploration led to my flashlight obsession

A phone backlight is not a flashlight.

Some Finnish explorers would disagree!

Just use two hose clamps, one around the handlebars, the other around the light. Overlap them so one holds the other.

I in fact do have a light on my bike, but the generator slips on wet roads so it gives out a very pale light, not even enough to light anything. On dry asphalt it's quite ok.

Gaffers' tape works wonders.

As long as the crossbar on your bike is horizontal, that's fine. I still stick with my solution, Screw the clamp onto your handlebars, and you can take the light in and out of the clamp with ease. No tools or replacement tape needed.

I like the clamp.
On a side note fuzzy, are you not the one who was interested in the flashlight holster from another thread? You and your light contraptions.

What can I say? I like shiny metal. Something shiny plus something metal works too.

Gaffers tape isn't shiny.
