I'm going to B.A next week, anyone around to explore with me ? I have found a couple of locations but nothing super exciting, I could use any tip.

Does anyone know if the attraction park "parque de la ciudad" is accessible ? every website I visit says it's abandoned but I can't find any urbex-type information, other than a guy on flickr who says it's guarded 24/7. any info ?

I was in Santiago and the Mendoza region of Argentina in 2008. I found that Chile had some promising sites and I felt reasonably safe in Santiago. I was doing the tourist thing with a family member so exploring wasn't much of an option for me. Argentina was a country where I didn't feel safe at all. I've heard stories of people being kidnapped for ransom, many people (not necessarily police) were heavily armed. I also saw locations that appeared to be very abandoned, but they had a family living in them.

The TransAndian Railway looked very interesting and it would be possible to explore it. I saw many abandoned stations and mining towns. I would be cautious down there as it seemed quite sketchy.

It was an amazing trip though and I recommend it to anyone.
