| | A few shots from around town < on 11/25/2009 10:53 PM >
| | | I live in a small town in northeast ohio, and while there aren't a lot of abandoned buildings, there are plenty of abandoned and run down areas to photograph. A few friends and I recently took a few days of the past week or so to explore our town a bit more thoroughly, and we got a lot of great (IMO) shots. These were all shot on a Canon powershot a540 using CHDK. I'm planning on getting a Nikon D40 soon, so Expect an increase in quality from me in the future. P.S. I've got a shot that I really like of a No Trespassing sign on a bridge, but it's got the name of our police chief on it. Can anyone fill me in on whether it's okay to post that, or should I edit it first?

| | | post your next set of pictures a little bit smaller, they are hard to look at when they are so big. ~barn, truck and jeep pic's: think about keeping your shots straight and do not to cut off half of the main subject. pictures like that are confusing and make the viewer's eye scatter around the picture. ~pick up a book on "composition", this will help you compose your shots better, and then keep practicing! They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn! |

Fewer and Fewer...

| | | #2 is definitely the strongest of your set, with the jeep a close to second. Being a part of this site for a year, I think you are allowed a little leeway in composition. But still, your shots could be a LITTLE bit straighter. Like the shot of the Garage door. The building appears to be leaning, though with it being constructed of cinder blocks I don't think that's the case. [last edit 11/26/2009 4:35 PM by gr8fzy1 - edited 1 times]
