I'm going down to TN to visit my parents over Thanksgiving, staying about a week. I already have some tenative plans to meet up with some folks in Knoxville, but I'd love to meet up with others in the Nashville or Chattanooga area during my stay. Please send me a PM if you may be willing to do some 'explorin with an out of towner.

Happy Turkey Day in advance!

If you're over near Johnson City at all let me know, I'm here all week.

And if you're gonna be by Nashville I strongly recomend you check out the Nuke plant thats near there. If you cant find it via a little wikipedia or google theres something wrong with you.

The exact address? No. I'm pretty sure I found it on Wikipedia though. Should be easy enough to find it via Google maps and get some rough directions since Wikipedia was kind enough to give the town it was near.

In my 5 minute search, I did learn there are a lot more nuclear plants in TN besides Watts Bar, and most of them are near Chattanooga.

There's lots of 'em. Some are easy to find and hard to enter.

I'm still hoping to do some exploring near Nashville and/or Chattanooga, just don't know exact dates. Depends on if I'll be meeting anyone in those towns or not.

If all else fails, I know of some sites along US127 I found as a kid. I'm going to check them out again, if they are still standing and/or abandoned. Not very exciting, but they hold some sentimental value to me.

I'll be driving to TN Wednesday. Thanksgiving with my family Thursday. From there, my plans are open for whatever. Tenatively leaving Dec 5th.

Hey I'll be back home in TN (about an hour out of Nashville) this week also but I have finals starting next week so I can do nothing but study and eat a little turkey. I will be back again around Christmas and will have some free time then. If you are going to be around hit me up, I know of a few sites around Mid-TN that are worth looking at.

and, no one is going to give out the address to that nuke plant. Finding the address doesn't get you in straightway anyway from what I figure.

he's being nice.

i don't think you could really get an address for it anyway, seeing as how it doesn't receive mail anymore or even have a real road leading up to it. even though the pics from the government spiders thread are public, i don't think many of us are up for posting an exact location for it. wikipedia will get you all the information you need to know to find it if you want in badly enough. besides, you can see the lights from the cooling tower quite a ways off - you don't need a street address. =)

Sorry I was not trying to be an ass, that's just the the way it is! I'm just saying, anyone who knows isn't talking, plus the address (which would conceivably bring you to the front gate) is what you would want to avoid for such a site.

Anyway I hope you guys find some cool places and have a good time exploring. I can't wait till I'm back in town and able to hit some stuff again.

Would we be discussing a unit north of Nashville almost in the suburbs with one cooling tower finished?

My parents live in Sumner co and I had totally forgotten about it.
