| | | Only explored the outside of this abandoned building so far but went by again today in the daytime and saw a way in- so I want to go back and check out the interior soon. Taken with a D700 @ 28mm 1 - 1min f/4
2 - 10min f/8

To get where you're going, Remember where you've been

| | | Photo 1: Seems a bit under exposed to me. Photo 2: The blurry sky is really distracting. Other than that, not bad

| | | These came out great, good color, nice and sharp. The fog in the first one is cool, but the second one is better exposed.

It's not blurry it's a star trail and it's a very desired effect. I think both of these photo's are awesome, specially for your first time. Keep posting

I don't know, if it was an airplane I think the line would have traveled across the whole photo....I think you captured an honest to god meteor!

Only if the exposure was long enough. It's a plane, you can see the regular blips where a flashing light is repeating.

| | | congrats on your first photos! the first one is a bit dark, as already said. I would want something in between the two of them... the star trail on 2 is slightly distracting in my opinion. either way, nice stuff.

| | | #1 is deifnitely underexposed, but it looks like its detailed enough to be brought up a few light stops without any serious noise/artifacts. I prefer this one though, I think it would look really great if it were a bit brighter. love the "meteor" in the background, even if it isn't really a meteor. #2 straighten it, please! of course you will have distortion, so make the most prominent vertical line near the focal point of the photo (in this case the corner of the grey main building and it's white face) the straightest. unfortunately really long exposures on an overcast night just look kind of messy, and you sure have a lot of light pollution where you live! star trails are always nice but if you're gonna stand around for 10 minutes, why not make it 20 or 30 (or the max of your lens without a neutral density filter) for more extreme trails? I really really like the first one, and almost wish it was HDR'd to give the shadows (especially the bushes in front) some definition. have a great time exploring the inside!! ps I am sooooooo jealous of your full-frame sensor! you gotta get a 18mm or wider on that bad larry!
