Just an old house & barn...

It looks like the person who lived here must have passed away. There are funeral florals in the old barn and scattered photos all over the home. How sad that no-one in the family could seem to be bothered to take the photos...

BTW- The note that is pictured above appears to be a sort-of journal that spans 1 week in the life of a 25 year old wife & mother of 2 whose husband just kicked her & the kids out of the house.

XOXO!!!

Maybe kicking the wife and kids out has something to do with the fact that no one came for those pictures? Sad. Nice pictures, I love seeing homes and barns and the remains of their owners lives. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!

My Hubby & I even talked about buying this property... There was a note on the door with a phone number, so we called... But, I guess the house sites on over 200 acres and they want to sell it all together.

I guess I just love the idea of eventually buying one of these houses and bringing her back to life, so-to-speak. 8-)

XOXO!!!

Bringing one back to life would be cool... too bad about them not wanting to split up the acreage though. Land is nice and all, but if you don't want it, don't need it, and end up with it, it just goes to waste. I'd keep an eye on it though, you never know, they could change their minds if it were to sit for too long...

I drove a car exactly like the one in #2 back in high school- what a sweet ride it was! It drove so smoooth. The fact that it got ~8mpg and topped out at 57mph on the highway were minor details.

It's always just amazing, (yet sad) seeing these past lives, sad and abandoned houses. When looking at the remains, I always love to imagine what things happened, especially in cases like this, when you have hints into their lives.

You could buy both, then sell the land once it was yours - if you had the money to do so.

Yeah... It's not so much a letter... It's more like part of a journal. It only covers about a week of a 25 year old lady's life. She is depressed because she moved here with her POS hubby and thier 2 kids. I guess they moved to be near his family, but now she is crazy far from her family and friends.

So... They move and he tells her to pack her shit and kick rocks (and take the kids with her). She basically tells him "no" she ain't going anywhere and he better learn to make it work because she takes her vows seriously.

Personally, I hope she ended up leaving his sorry ass. From what she wrote he is verbally and physically abusive and is a cheating dueche. Oh yeah, and let us not forget that he went out on a DATE while she was in labor with thier son and then came to the hospital so drunk that he actually told her that he was out whoring around.

If my husband pulled any of that crap you would see me all over the news the next day for setting his ass a flame, ala "The Burning Bed".

XOXO!!!

Wow, sounds like she covered a lot in this small time frame.

Yeah, it was like a list of all the crap he ever put her through and how she was an idiot for staying with him... To me it sounded like she was trying to psych herself up, into actually leaving...

I hope she left his sorry ass...

As tragic as that is, that's why I like abandoned houses the best. They have a history I can relate to more than industrial sites.

I can't relate to this one personally, but you know what I mean.
