A Day at the Races

I went to this place over the summer, but I just never got a chance to post up the pictures.. But I figure now is as good a time as any.. This place used to be one of the premier race track in the North East Coast until Summit Point opened up, which caused it to close down.

Heres where my name comes from..

No inside pictures for two reasons.. One; there was an active landscaping business using the parking lot and I didnt want them to ruin my fun.. Two; these were the grandstands and the grandstands were collapsed.

I dont know how many of yall are into racing as much as I am, but this was by far one of the best abandonments Ive visited.. Sadly, I didnt get to take alot of pictures.. My camera died.

I got a Harley, Huskys, Hondas, Bultacos, Triumph, BMW, Yamaha, Penton, BSA.
Every one of them gives me a big fat boner.....

I would love to putt around that old track, looks like a motocross or dual sport could work just fine on it. After a day, you'd have a pretty good line worn in.

Scratches from branches? Or scratches from pavement?

Here is a link to forgotten motocross tracks across the U.S.

There is quite a few I remember racing on in the mid to late 70's in my general area.

They are listed by state, with some photos. I hope you can go find one near you and check it out.
