the perfect UE simulator on PC- S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky

Im sure ive read this somewhere on this forum. Im not trying to be repetitive, but i have to emphasize this. Have you ever played this game? It is an action/rpg game based on chernobyl disaster. The whole game is an abandonment and perhaps its one of the few games that captures the UE feeling. Ive finished shadow of chernobyl and i was amazed by the graphics and its ambience. im Currently playing clear sky and i was quite surprised because its far superior in all aspects. The music is amazing and perfect for UE. Any thoughts about this?

Yes, that is an amazing game! Very creepy and atmospheric. I felt at times like it was a UE video game almost. I believe you can get it on Steam for $20, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good game to play.

Perfect ue simulator based on chernobyl? lol. You'd think it would based on something people explore.

I downloaded it a while ago, but never got to play it. I'll have to try it out next time I'm at my parent's house. (My computer sucks for gaming)

Well, "the zone" has actually been converted to tourism. This is a great game, because it was designed from authentic pictures and videos.

Why would you want to simulate exploring when you are perfectly able to get out and do it yourself?

Radiation, dude. And u cant enter in the zone unless you have a government permit. There are lots of soldiers wandering there. u can only go in excursion, and by what ive read, its very restrict and controlled....and you know..excursion isnt the same as UE.
At least, thats what i think.

Bollocks. There are no military personnel there now. There are police and loads of workers that wear surplus camo uniforms.

Also the radiation isn't that bad.

Why watch football or baseball when you could go play yourself?

Good question. I've always hated sports fans.

Yeah, I heard it's the good kind. ;)

Great game. I thought the same thing about it - it's the landscape, graphics, and atmosphere of the game. Best UER "feel" I've ever come across in a video game.

Best UER "feel"

I'm sure that that's not what you meant.

Well, i've been twice and I am perfectly fine. I also feel it is reasonably safe enough to go again and spend a couple of days there. Workers, from what I have gathered, inside the 30km and 10km zones do 15 day on 15 day off rotations and are limited to a certain dosage per shift. When I was close to the reactor 4, there were 3 shift changes within the 45 minutes we were able to see them. Meanwhile, we spent most of the day wandering Pripyat and received less than the allowed maximum dose.

I knew a girl who went there on her own. It's not impossible and probably not even hard.

(Yes, it was a real person, not the "Kid of Speed", and as far as I know she hitchhiked to the zone.)

I guess if you're trying to execute an actual infiltration of Pripyat, the big question is, how possible/difficult is it to "social" your way past the guards at the 30/10 km checkpoints? There are plenty of alternative roads/paths into the exclusion zone, but of course none of these are really used anymore, and appear to be largely overgrown, making them unusable because of the accumulated radiation.

I wouldn't doubt the comments from others about the relative ease of making clandestine maneuvers once inside the exclusion zone. I would suspect most folks in a position of authority would assume you have permission, just by virtue of the fact that you're actually there.

Of course, any successful infiltration requires an exfiltration as well, probably somewhat easier, but there might be considerable challenges associated with that phase as well, especially if the guards whom you previously plied with vodka aren't there when you try to leave.

Obviously, I'm no expert on this. Mostly, I'm curious in hearing ideas from others who have experience in this part of the world in doing this sort of thing. Anyone actually pulled this off?
