| | Canada linseed oil mill? < on 10/13/2009 6:13 AM >
| | | Hey how's it going everyone? -This is my first post and I have a small question to ask. First though, I would just like to say that I had just discovered this forum and it looks bleedin' fantastic! I'm really surprised with how informative it is for a UE website. I'm part of UE Ireland http://www.urbanexploration.ie/ and derelict places http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/ & i'm pretty new to this biz' - I'm a figurative painter and photographer and I got interested in this study naturally. It's just how my work seemed to progress to. I always liked the aesthetic of a photo that had the effect of a filed-out negative carrier with rust, chipped paint and 40 y/o peeling wallpaper. So just recently I hit the part where i am starting to incorporate my concepts and figurative compositions with these derelict locations acting as the stage. So, I was flipping through this site and I found the Canada Linseed oil mill under the locations search....it really peaks my interest. It looks like it would be absolutely perfect for this next series I wish to produce but I was wondering if any of you have any kind of updates on it? because I noticed that nothing has been posted about it for a few months now and I live about 2 hours away so it would be a bit of a hike for me if the location turned out to be leveled. -So I guess my questions would be regarding accessibility and is it in the same condition as it is shown in those photo's? -If anyone who has gained access to the interior, if you could possibly PM me specifically how you got in and Any tips would be hugely appreciated!! Take care all, you will definitely see more from me!. Cheers,

| | | Welcome aboard! While you might get some details of whether the place is still there, don't be too dismayed if entry details are not forthcoming - people tend to be fairly guarded about that sort of thing.

| | | If you are here (which is assuming why you posted about access info)..I'd suggest going down and seeing for yourself. The accessibility changes, but most of the time its far too much bother to get in. If you find it open try it, local writers have been painting in there for at least 15 years. http://www.ntropy.us/2009/09/11/linseed/ [last edit 10/13/2009 2:37 PM by Air - edited 1 times]

| | | Air 33. was just on your website. That graf is gorgeous man. ahhh, I really hope I'm able to find access. The problem is that it's far for me and I have to pay a model for her time /hour. So i'm just trying to do some preliminary work before I make the trek -to make the shoot go as smoothly as possible... within my ability, you can't plan for everything but finding out current access points is key, I plan to pop this shoot within the next 2 weeks.

You are better off shooting another space, this one really is hit or miss. I tried for 3 years, and I go by regularly.

Whatever you do find, don't post the location name itself (unless it obvious), even then it helps juts to avoid that all together.
