| | | Interesting....so google maps are a few years outdated, but google street view is only a few months outdated. I think admiralhonshu has a good idea of using street view to find locations. However, the time factor thing may pose a problem no? I'm only saying because most of these pictures were taken 6-12 months ago (i think) and as we know alot can change in a couple months.

| | | It gives an idea what to expect when we get there, and if we find it. Most of the time these places dont have landmarks for us to recognize on how to get there, or if we are even there, I was thinking this would help at least a little. I have the map locations, but I edited them out. Except 1.

| | | The disparity between aerial and street view can be fun. I recently spotted what looked like a derelict building via Google Maps - switch to street view, and suddenly I'm looking at a brand-spanking-new office complex instead. Damn you, progress!

| | | I'd be happy right now if Google even had a half decent arial view of so much of the area around here, never mind street view. Of course, maybe then I'd waste even more hours on it.

| | | I'm guessing you see alot of "We are sorry, but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region. Try zooming out for a broader look". So you zoom out and all you see is lots of green. It's basically useless to people wanting to find something.

Google sucks. Bing's aerial view is much better *and* they display street names that Google does not.

| | | Ya welcome! Bing is Microsoft's attempt at aerial imaging. Google's choppy green forest "zoom level" views just weren't doing it for me.

| | | I love Bing maps. They are great for "pre-exploration" planning, or even finding potential new locations in areas you don't frequent.

Bing is still a LITTLE out of date- that's an overhead view of a former UE gem in Belleville, which has been gone for at least 4 years now.
