| | That Floral Place < on 10/4/2009 7:30 PM >
| | | A little over a month back, a group of us checked out That Floral Place in Ontario. I'm sure it's in the DB for full members, but since it's not public, I will not post the name here. Anyway, great place to explore, especially down in the tunnels. I think this would be an amazing place to come back to in the winter after a few big snowfalls. Here are some photos. Enjoy. 1. Inside the powerhouse building.
2. Lots of knobs, dials, and peeling paint to keep urbex photographers happy.
3. Abandoned, but certainly not cleaned out or scavenged yet. Kind of messy though.
4. Exit...
5. Welding mask, and a newspaper from Rochester, I think.
6. Dark and dusty in the workshop.
7. Fortunately, we brought some tunes along with us.
8. Go down the stairs in the powerhouse, and you end up in the steam tunnels that go underground out to the greenhouses. This was by far my favourite part. Bring a flashlight, and watch your head.
9. Steam tunnels under the greenhouses. Natural light bleeds through the cracks above.
10.
11.
12. Staircase up from the tunnels into the middle of a greenhouse.
13. Hey...some other explorer must have lost a laser pointer down here. I will return it to the proper owner if it's yours.
14. Shoes in the greenhouse.
15. One of the big greenhouses. Most of the glass was still intact here, and it hasn't been completely overgrown with plants as some of the other greenhouses have.
16. Another view inside the greenhouse.
17. Back outside behind the powerhouse. I see you hiding there!
18. Outside view at sunset.
19. Back inside the powerhouse again....and only a few minutes to capture some more pictures during the golden hour. Nice way to end the day.

| | | Pretty much. The alarm is powered, but doubt it's connected to a phone line...

| | | Yeah, I highly doubt that any kind of security on that place is monitored. There's a camera right out front too. Our group spent hours there... LauraL42: Yeah, I think #9 is my favourite too. strangePlaces: Thanks. I didn't bring the music, but we had some urbexing musicians with us who did some playing and recording in various locations around the site. Always fun to have them along to add to the atmosphere. The day we were there it was a bit cool and rainy out. I think the hottest place was down in the tunnels. I wouldn't want to go there on a hot summer day.

| | | I love that place, the stalagmites (?) forming in the steam tunnels are pretty neat. I took a pic of that exact newspaper, the ad is for a Chrysler Cordoba. I dig the rich corinthian leather...
