Studebaker Foundry

My first UE. Fantastic place, over half a million square feet of abandoned goodness. It used to be a casting plant for the Studebaker automobiles, and the massive ovens and whatnot are still there, rusting away. The building is technically in use as a pipe warehouse, but we have never seen employees nor any security measures. An easy exploration due to the massive bay doors being left open. Includes a sprawling basement/tunnels, and a second floor filled with offices and locker rooms. The building has basically been left to rot since 1964, and the decay is amazing. According to the local news, it'll be razed to the ground sometime in 2010. See it while you can!

Shame about the flooding. There's nothing better than a creepy basement tunnel.

Seems like a really cool place.

where is this at?

I thought they'd already razed part of the South Bend Studebaker plant. Did that get put on hold? Or is this a different place?

Yes, that is indeed a tricycle. All the items upstairs were already arranged like that when we came in. There are three studebaker buildings left, this is the largest, and its located right by the gaping field where the other buildings were.

They have razed the best part, but not all ofthe rest of it.
