Last time I told you about the biggest underground in the world - odessa catacombs. So it`s a timeto show you some pics of our drains.
There are only 5 drains in Odessa, but they are very long! One of them is 5,3 km and others are more than 9 km long.
All the drains were built in the 1960s

Yes, you are right. Our drains have entrances inside them to the catacombs. So you can get into the catacombs from drains. Miners used drains for for the removal of stone
out of catacombs. That`s why there are a lot of rail cars and some of them are in working condition. They were also used for transportation of construction materials
during the construction of the tunnels.

If you mean the 5th picture, this hooks on the wall were used as holders for electric wires. Nowadays these drains are abandoned,but 10 years ago there were lamps ang electricity. By the way, drains in Odessa could also be used as a shelter in case of war. There are some bunkers inside the drain.
