Mill Creek... There are many drains in Edmonton that are far more interesting, easier to get to and much safer than this. Big long and boring.

Big and atmospheric, you mean! Mill Creek used to be the easy favourite, summer or winter. Never did bring any lawn chairs down, but always wanted to. Highly recommended.

"Taken from wikipedia" Griesbach is a residential neighbourhood in the Castledowns area of north west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This neighbourhood was formerly a military base, part of CFB Edmonton. The land was sold to the City Of Edmonton, and is currently being redeveloped as a civilian community.

The neighborhood is bounded on the north by 153 Avenue, on the east by 97 Street, on the south by 137 Avenue, and on the west by Castledowns Road. Travel north along 97 Street provides access to the current CFB Edmonton. Travel south along 97 Street provides access to the downtown core and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Shopping and services are available just outside the neighbourhood at Northgate Centre and North Town Centre. Both malls are located at the intersection of 137 Avenue and 97 Street at Griesbach's south east corner..

With all those cross streets I hope you dont need a map.

It was still an active base when i left town but now it is likely more accessible.

The now retired CFB Edmonton must certainly have secrets to be found...

there is an old shooting range on the western side of the location that likely has interesting goodies and shells.... just a thought..

It seems you've just been looking with your eyes closed.

That sounds like it could really be worth a look. Ill be excited if they have a steam pipe tunnel system.

Not to much left there to be honest, and its quite active now because of all the new homes. It was cool when the prison was still standing on site though.

I've been here 2 weeks. if your not finding, YOUR NOT LOOKING!!!

I beg to differ, the gooders you showed I have seen and are buttoned up to the max! Getting in would create alot of noise and destruction.

number 2,3,4,5,6 would get you arrested so quickly as they are government property. aside from the brewery however they have tight security and many cameras. Edmonton has changed as everything abandoned is now being torn down. Ive driven all over the city looking for good sites I havent come across any....but then again I only like factories, foundries, plants, hotels, apartments that kind of stuff. Houses arnt my style. Where is Edmontons oldest industrial area?

I kick ass, everyone else sucks.

Thunder Road is easy, but be cautious of the pool at the end. Another drainer almost drown in it.

Ya, I wonder if you have to pop a cover to get in? Its a long way down to that giant heavy iron grate that blocks the entrance. Rat creek is a double barrel isn't it? I found some really cool stuff out east of clareview. Neat old stuff. If anyone is interested I'll b heading into the drain at the south end of tiger goldstick tomorrow around 11 in the morning. The one with the grate. If anyone feels inclined, come join me.

Don't believe that sign. There is no possible way, and I did not see any cameras anywhere. I got rather close to that power plant, but there were people working there, I didn't want to risk going in the open. That would be a great night place. And, THUNDER ROAD. I think reduxzero named it that, at least thats what he calls it in his story. By the way, he has a great site with fabulous accounts of his many forays. Hey warcrimes, that first pic is the factory I am talking about. Its a crappy pic, but you get the idea. It would be rad to get up on top of that water tower or whatever it is. The site is huge, like acres huge, with many many many out buildings and storage tanks.

If anyone is up for hitting some drains let me know.

Be weary of that place, there is definitely security there... And after some significant things went missing, I'm sure they stepped up security even more.

My roommate and I checked it out, and there isnt security...however they rent out offices in one building....and the parking lot is used for buses. It would definitely have to be a night venture.

No good bringing him with me, he only has two volumes loud and louder. lol. Was it a pretty easy target or what. Did you find the downed fence or the hole by the tanks in between the fence and the tracks? No security eh! Thats a bonus. If there is security it's probably pretty lax. I Am So Jealous!

well we went up there was 1 car parked infront of the office building by the far left parkinglot. and there was a busdriver that returned his bus.
We walked down the road and around the plant as "hikers" we never had any troubles. noone came out to question us the only person we saw was the bus driver. I guess they are leasing and selling off the property so the offices are in use.....but Im interested in the PC Lab.....I wonder whats in there?

Sittin around at work eh!!!! I just called you but your bro said you were still working.
Ya, thats what I did in the daytime, and no one bothered me either. Did you get into the buildings? Did you see the other plant next door that is being demoed?

We have to hit this place either tonight after the drain or next week some time.

When I was there, there was definitely security driving around in a pick up truck patrolling the site. It was a while ago, but trust me, you'd want to keep an eye open in this place...
