High rises under construction

I always wanted to go check out high rises under construction, esp famous ones, future landmarks, in Major cities.

Does anyone do this and have any tips? I actually worked as a security guard once and security is fairly lax..

i personally never have done it, but in my eyes i think the owners and authorities might be a little harsher on you if caught due to the high amount of theft at construction sites.

Exactly. Gets way costly especially when you're on a very tight schedule.

And sometimes the cops hop the fence and come after you and then think you are insane when they believe your explanation of just wanting to climb the crane.

Yo, bigger the jobsite, the easier it is to access it. Beware that some large sites are reverting to using hidden cameras because of theft and vagrants accessing the site - this is true of buildings that are almost completely closed up especially in the winter where bums like the warmth of the temporary heat - I've seen bums around Moss Park in downtown Toronto with hard hats - that just tells y'all the start of the story. Also, some job sites have poor safety practices - you gotta know what you're getting or walking into - a little walk over a tarp could end up being a 30 storey fall!

I find its usually pretty easy. As usual, Recce the place, look for guards. Make your entry quiet and not too noticeable and hope for the best. Always watch your step, as floors and stairs often drop off into nothing except 400 fall onto rebar.

I always think of a 'highrise' as a building that's over 30 stories.
Right now there's dozens of mid-rise towers going up in the city.
I stood on the roof of one about 12 floors up last week, and snapped this pic:

(from a penthouse overlooking an open 'quad' area of the building)

As much as I dislike Condozilla knocking down all the cool old buildings,
at least they are easy to climb.

There's a bunch of us on here that do this shit, I personally prefer climbing cranes to exploring buildings, but they are 2 completely different types of rushes. The best advise I can give is to watch the site over the course of a couple weeks. Make note of the hours that the site is being worked on (some sites are 24hrs a day but shut down one night a week), check for camera's and motion sensors. Go at night and usually as late as possible.

Here's a few pics from my adventures

One of my favorite cranes so far

PM sent, there is a private board kicking round these parts regarding exploration of these locations. The biggest tip I have is disregard security, they are not cops and can do nothing but try to hold you until the cops arrive, so always run.

QFT, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't do your research first.

Because Chicago cops arent real. Neither are Boston or NYC ones, where I do most of my climbing. Your logic is flawless. If there is any risk involved, don't do it!
