|  | | | Many of you are probably familiar with this old site. It was abandoned for a period of time then some knob set it ablaze. I was bored one day and thought I would re-visit and take a few photos of what is still laying about.

Wierd that there is still so much left of someone's life. Kind of sad really. Anyhow, hope you enjoyed re-visiting

| | | | Thank you for the tour, leafloving4x4gal. It's amazing what remains on the site. It looks like this whole area, including the abandoned truck stop, is zoned for new industrial use including the proposed incineration plant. So it's likely this junk will remain scattered over the property for some time to come. Unlike the Trull Manor property which has been so meticulously cleaned after demo that you'd hardly know anything existed there. Or the Sklar Peppler plant in Whitby, where it's so utterly erased from being that the demo company, Lions, still has giant signs on the property proudly displaying how well they demo/clean up at site.

| | | | Your welcome Fedge ! I know what you mean about the Sklar Peppler factory. It is weird to know what used to be there but not even a hint left.
This place is "littered" with stuff still. The driveway has been filled at the road entrance and weeds and vines etc are reclaiming the driveway...It's pretty overgrown and I nearly twisted my ankles quite a few times cause you cannot see what the hell your stepping on.
I did not realize that this area was a proposed location for the incineration plant though. I thought the area down near the second marsh (where the sugar factory burned) was the place they were thinking of. I think this location is a better choice though, not so much a conservation area like Farewell.

Well, they still wanna build a 12 hectare state-of-the-art ethanol plant just west of the Second March in addition to the incinerator out by the Courtice Doll House. Meanwhile, York Region gets away without having any unhealthy things built in their jurisdiction.

Really...I have to say that peeves me off ! That whole area is a nature walk and bird sanctuary. That's where I go nearly daily with my rottie to walk. The fire that just happened cannot be good with all the 'crap' runoff etc. I echo your feelings about York Region but I guess they may look at the lack of jobs here.

| | | | I was looking to preserve some of this house, as I enjoyed looking at it so much, I have used some of the bricks to build a garden at my house, I stacked those bricks because they were in good condition and I was going to come back for them..lol..I just procrastinated and never went back..until today that is...a few more bricks for the garden...(Yes , yes I know I am stealing, but really, they are all just decaying and soon they will be gone...I am guilt free)
