| | | Looking for hospital images for industrial band CD cover < on 8/5/2009 7:40 PM >
| | | Hello all, So I'm new to the site and haven't been as active as I should but I've been very busy with other activities. Now, what I'm looking for is someone who would like some of their photography featured as the images for 5 songs that will be hosted on a 5 track EP for an industrial band called Automaton 2101. We're looking for about 4 photographs featuring old abandoned hospitals or factories. They may be photoshopped depending on the quality or concept that will be put together. Most of our music will be digitally downloaded free of charge, but we will have some CD's put together as well. Of course you will be credited for your work but since we don't charge for our music there will not be any compensation. Exciting news is one of our tracks will be featured on an Industrial/EBM compilation and might possibly be mentioned and showcased on the home page of the Industrial culture social networking site Vampire Freaks. If this is not the right forum for a request like this then kindly send me in the right direction. Our music is cold, mechanical and sometimes dancy. I don't know what the rules are about posting links yet but we're on Myspace and Vampire Freaks if you wanna get an idea. Thanks!

| | | I'll let you use one of my asylum pictures, but only if you in turn promise to make me a vampire. I want to fly by your side and suck the blood of all those intolerant people who have never understood me. Are you real vampires more like the Lost Boys or the ones in Twilight? | | | Hey, I think I can help you out. I not only take a lot of photos in old hospitals but I also work as a graphic designer by day. I made this to spec (it's low res but I dont know if you guys want to use it for print, if so I can send you a high res file with a full bleed and crop marks) and I'm also well versed in the legality of fonts and logotypes- so don't worry, the fonts I used are free but really awesome and sorta grungy looking. This photo was taken in a measles ward at an isolation hospital. Hope it helps!

Hey hydro, Not a bad concept. We're kinda lookin' for clear and crisp quality images. Thanks for the effort though! I'm a web and graphic designer, so is my collaborator but hell, you may have a design that can blow us away. I'll keep you posted.
Off Limits, I must say those are awesome pictures! Very gothic and disgustingly elegant as well. Not quite what we're looking for, but I'll show my collaborator. She'll appreciate those images as well, and of course I'll let you know if we wanna work with your photos!

Well I have to say, while my image may not have qualified as "crisp" it's certainly quality, I can tell you that, and it's a bit rude to insult someone's image who is only trying to help you pro-bono. But it's ok, I can understand you may not be going for a too over-the-top grunge look. I've actually created an action in Photoshop I call "Thorazine Crunk" that bumps the saturation/descreens and then adds grain to sort of emulate a high ISO film. It's not to everyone's tastes. I'm happy to hear you found a photographer! But just in case they don't work out, hit me up if you guys do want to collaborate! (This photo is from a state school, so while it's technically not a hospital, I've left the filters off it so it's just the crisp original photo!) Best of luck!
Cheers, hydro
