As much fun as it was to explore the place, I really hope they open up again.

I was there 2 weeks ago and briefly walked around near the golf course..

there's an old school house north of the a garden part if you follow the dirt road north from there and eventually east over a bridge you will need a car for.. I have no idea if it is still active.. I just know that new houses bordering on it has made it not so secluded anymore.

nice pics

i cant believe how bad this looks now, i was there a couple years before it closed and it wasnt this bad.

i may go check it out in person, considering its 3 minutes from my house, which is down the street from it.

The day I took these pics, there was a party in the court where the house was.

Yes, please do! The best I could find out there was a 2 minute home video with "What a Wonderful World" as the soundtrack. I was almost in tears...*sniff*

I was there again this weekend, the small shack near the entrance, and the wooden bridge by the mini golf are both gone! I also noticed some of the houses on the main strip as well as the old school house, were being used for day camps. I'm not too worried about those houses, it's the row of century homes to the west I'm concerned about. I hope they don't do something stupid like tear them down to build, oh I don't know, new houses. They're just screaming to be U.E.ed. Gotta remember to ALWAYS have my camera with me!

...Yeah, me too. I've always got this happy/sad feeling whenever I'm there. I'm gonna take some more pics in the fall, when there won't be so many damn weeds!

Apparently, Oshawa purchased the miniature houses & displays and have plans to place them on display somewhere in their neck of the woods. I personally would love to see them back in Whitby again in the newly reopened Cullen Gardens & Miniature Village!!! (I wish.)

Well that is very good news. I was hoping they wouldn't just send them to landfill or something. I'm glad someone is going to take care of it. Seeing it in its bad state almost brought a tear to my eye.

I think you're right! If memory serves me correct, it was a complete recreation of the CNE Midway located at the other end of the grounds, by the mini-golf. Which is still there and still salvageable!
