ALL the flashlights!

| | | I have a thing against abbreviations. When you use them, it almost always slows down a reader. TBH most people only have a few dz. abbr that they can really rott without having to pause and think about it. Sure, we can guess that 'wpn' is probably weapon, but just ask IBM about their looming TLA shortage and you'll see the problem; particularly wrt such a wide range of subjects. Most people who can use abbr. so flippantly are in the same profession, because it cuts down on the guessing - On a plant tour we had to constantly get the tour guide to explain SSC and TVK and SRN because he would drop them frequently. While spelling, grammar, and clearly showing which word you want are obviously optional, I don't think anyone has reason to type except with the goal of communication. Or we can throw marbles at a keyboard across the room and hit 'submit,' but that's just not very effective. Now someone's going to throw ten-codes at me just for fun, eh? Carry on, I can see the desire to tutorial people in UE skillz...but good luck.

Yeah the people who need the help never seem to think they require it. You know, because their ninja's.

| | | Posted by Air 33 You guys mock, but having watched others explore, even if someone picked up skills on being quiet and not wearing things like hot pink when UE'ing, the world would be a better place.
|
Meh, I wore a flower in my hair and hot pink shoe laces to run a subway tunnel. It all depends on where and how you wear it. I know you know, but I've come across people who are unaware that camo in the city does not make you invisible. Makes me facepalm every time. Hence spending most of my free time alone lol.

You can lose weight and learn. But that's not easy, which fortunately scares away people not worth knowing. So far I'm sticking it out...

| | | Posted by rz350 it was merly an idea for some of the new members to get of practice before the fall off a fence wearing reflective clothes and then scream for help...

| | | Maybe you should get a little more experience before offering up a course. I glanced through your post history, nothing there other then some banter about gear and 'Category A members of CANOSCOM'. And you've popped a few manholes and taken pictures (with out going in) then posted them in the database. If someone needs to be taught how to climb a fence, maybe they should pick up a new hobby. Any noob with any sense can read through the thousands of posts in the 'UE Tutorials, Lessons, and Useful Info' section that is public.

Any noob would also know that there is a world of exploring outside of an internet forum. Please see 1000+ posts by people who don't actually go outside and explore, as an example to counter your point. I don't see what the problem is in helping new kids out. I doubt the goal was to become structured, more like a regular UE meet where the people attending actually know there is someone willing to teach them something new.
